Maeve
Esther
Agnes

I prefer Hester to Esther.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 08/09/2020 12:01

Maeve is my favourite.

I would worry about “Aggie” as a nickname for Agnes.. but if you don’t mind Aggie then it wouldn’t be a problem.

Fifthtimelucky · 08/09/2020 12:01

Agnes is the only one I like.

I particularly dislike Maeve. It's partly the pronunciation as it reminds me if someone I used to work with who was called Mavis, but Mave for short.

I was young at the time and it always seemed a very boring middle aged dumpy sort of name.

  2. Agnes
  3. Esther

Not really my cup of tea in general though

Sarafive · 08/09/2020 12:04

Esther. Really don't like the others.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 08/09/2020 12:05

Love maeve, if I were having anymore children it would be on my list

AdaColeman · 08/09/2020 12:09

Maeve

I also quite like Agnes, though not Aggie. What about Maude?

emmathedilemma · 08/09/2020 12:10

ooh i like them all, can't choose!

justanothermamma · 08/09/2020 15:23

Thank you all so much!

I feel like Hester sounds like a character from The Addams Family (don't know why!)

My reservations and why I'm asking is because although I love Agnes, I don't want it to become Aggie and I think it will.

Do you think Maeve would be shortened to Mae? Just not a fan of names being shortened really 🙈.

Esther is the top of our list, Maeve second and Agnes third at the moment. Was just very curious to see what other people thought and it's proving very helpful! X
