Hello, I am due baby boy no 3 in October and struggling with names. Initially both my husband and i really liked Phoenix until we shared it with family who all hated it :) I know it should n't matter but did put me off it. I also like short gender neutral names. One we were thinking of which is alot more common and simple but still like is Sam or Sammy. Our other boys are Theo and Jesse. Wondered peoples thoughts on Sam or Sammy. Not keen on Samuel or Samson etc.

I love Phoenix but for a girl, I really don’t see it as a boys name.
Sam is nice, sammy as a nickname but not as a registered name, it’s cute as a child but once they’re teen and older I think they’d hate it. Again sammy is mostly used for a girl.
Theo is now very popular.
I love Jesse, I only know one, and it’s really suits him.

Thanks so much. Have always been keen to register as the name I will call them daily. If do register him as Sammy but he thinks is too cute he could always shorten to Sam which will prob happen naturally as gets older anyway. Not definite on it but up there 😁has helped hearing opinions. Thanks again everyone.

Wait, you're not actually going to register a child as Sammy are you?!

Sammy is lovely
I quite like Phoenix too though actually

Yes I will register him whatever name we decide on. He can always shorten to Sam when older if prefers. 😄

I know I really liked it initially too as did my husband ☺️
