Surname Jamieson.

I've always loved the name James but not sure about the two together???

I also like Jack.

Is James Jamieson too much?

Middle name suggestions for both please too!

It's brilliant, Jack for middle name.

Enko · 21/07/2020 09:37

I dont think it's that bad tbh. If you like the name go for it

Whatsyourflava · 21/07/2020 09:39

I personally think that's one of the coolest names I've ever heard! Love it

bh2210 · 21/07/2020 09:39

I went to school with a James Jamieson and he was always known as Jam Jam. He was bullied mercilessly for it though.

sunrainwind · 21/07/2020 09:40

Jack is better I think! I like the name James but not with your surname.

ALC1985 · 21/07/2020 09:55

I like both, both have a cool vibe to them! I know a Jim Jamieson, thinking about it he's probably a james shortened to Jim!

Dollywilde · 21/07/2020 10:01

I know a J Jamieson too - how weird Grin

Personally I wouldn’t Op, but it seems others have done it (more than once) so go for it if nothing else measures up Grin

aprilshowers2015 · 21/07/2020 10:06

I once knew a Harry Harrison and he loved his name! Go for it if you like it OP.

Orphlids · 21/07/2020 10:26

I love it. I used to live in Sweden, and it’s quite common there to have a repeating name - Sven Sveningsson, Paul Paulsson, etc. I always think it sounds so cool! Go for it.

MikeUniformMike · 21/07/2020 10:34

I think it's terrific.
A touch of the Robin Robinson and Magnus Magnusson, and being welsh I know many called John Jones, David Davies etc.

Hugh Pugh, ...

MikeUniformMike · 21/07/2020 10:35

And I know a Steve Stevens. Cool name.

Riv12345 · 21/07/2020 10:40

I use to go to school with a John Johnson

His father was also called John

DoTheMaccaroni · 21/07/2020 11:42

Oh I LOVE this kind of name! I’ve met someone (and adult) with a similar name, can’t remember what it was now... but I do remember that they absolutely loved it!!

123Dancewithme · 21/07/2020 21:31

I’m surprised so many people are saying yes. I don’t think it’s a good idea. I’d go with Jack.

PixieDust1986 · 21/07/2020 22:32

It's pretty split really isn't it!? I think I fall into the category of thinking it sounds good, but I know at least half of the people he ever met would not think so!

It would be our 'back up' name in case we have a boy and he doesn't seem to suit the name we have chosen (Thomas Maxwell).

Somebody asked me if we had other options ready and I realised that we actually didn't, so thought I should get some opinions on the other names we like. (There are literally those two others, so let's hope he looks like a Thomas! )

OP posts:
sunrainwind · 22/07/2020 22:53

Thomas is another great name!

Elouera · 22/07/2020 23:00

It really is a mouthful I wouldn't choose! What about Jim, Jimmy, Jock or Jack? Even if only as nicknames? I went to school with a Theo Theophanis and a Glen Glenson- both the butt of jokes that their parents couldn't be bothered thinking of anything else!

Yes, too similar IMO.

sel2223 · 23/07/2020 12:52

I really don't get it when people have names like this....i know a David Davison and a Phil Phillipson and i just find it so bizarre. As if there aren't a million names out there you could choose!

Neville Neville is the worst one I've ever heard.
