We like these three girls names, have a surname similar to Davey so I prefer names without an e or y sound at the end.

Babies sex is unknown but we have no boys names at all.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

We are in Wales (and welsh) our son has an welsh name but it’s easily pronounced and recognised in England so something of a similar vein would be nice.

Any suggestions lovely people?

Ffion is nice. I love Lowri, Catrin and Tesni too. For boys, how about Deri or Nye?

Fion means arse in French, so I wouldn't use that on the grounds that it will not make school trips fun.

For a boy:

Tomos - yes, but it l prefer Thomas
Osian - very popular in wales but will be Os-eye-un or Ocean
Macsen - I'd use Max

Owen - fine
Owain - not sure outside Wales
Aled - very popular
Alun - no as will be pronounced Alan
Aneurin/Aneirin - not that keen really although I know about 3 much older ones
Taliesin - quite a name!
Emrys - fine
Emlyn - fine
Eifion - will be Ife-yun
Gwyn - nice
Gwilym - current. Welsh for William, will get the vowels jumbled up (Gwylim, Giwlym)
Gwion - fine
Geraint - pronunciation problems. Dated
Idris - very old fashioned in Morocco, not popular in wales until very recently. Wonder why?
Iestyn - fine
Ieuan - pronunciation issues
Hefin - Will be Heffin. Seems very dated and is for a June baby
Rhisiart - pronunciation
Rhodri - don't like Rod-ry.

Names I quite like but might have pronunciation issues:
Peredur
Goronwy
Emyr
Hywel
Bleddyn
Bedwyr
Dafydd
Pwyll
Llyr
Dyfrig
Iori
Guto
Deio

Basically, the easy names like Dylan, Rhys, Gareth, Bryn and Glyn are all a bit dated or seem a bit downmarket outside Wales or I know too many of them (Gethin, Aled, Elis...).

Names like Arthur, Huw and Rhys sound so much nicer in Welsh.

I'd be tempted to use Owen, Griff, Lloyd or Vaughan, which are anglicised names or go for a biblical name like Daniel, Ben or Sam

@MikeUniformMike

Love name, but then I might be biased, it's my DC's name.

Why do people say this? I don't get it, surely you picked the name because you liked it, not started to like it after you named the DC.

I picked a name I likes a lot for my child. Now they’ve had it for years and years I love the name a lot more as it is so much more significant.

I never thought of it like that.
