Irish name pronunciation?

Hi I am looking for an Irish boys name. My other children have Irish names but my DP does not like any I do for this baby.
Anyway, I'm loving the name Tadhg. Is it pronounced the same all over Ireland? I initially thought it was Tag but learned it's like tiger but without the er. Is that correct?

I'm not Irish but have encountered Tadgh pronounced Tige as in Tiger minis the R.

I really like it. It's not immediately obvious if you're not familiar with Irish phonetics, but it's not hard to learn (I've managed it).

Lots of people in the UK have non English names, whether Irish/Scottish and Welsh, or names from further afield. My name included and (most) people learn it after I explain the pronunciation, and explaining doesn't bother me at all.

My favourite Irish boys name is Oisín. The Welsh version, Osian, is high on my list. I think it's lovely when names reflect a child's cultural heritage.
