We are considering the name Hodge for a boy. However we have gotten some negative feedback that has us second guessing it. I just want to reach out for opinions before we remove it as an option completely. Thanks in advance!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 08/07/2020 18:34

No OP.
JUST NO.

Blingismything · 08/07/2020 18:35

No, just no

Blackswans · 08/07/2020 18:39

I actually think this is a joke.

terriblyangryattimes · 08/07/2020 18:40

Reminds me of Hoggle the weird little troll man from Labyrinth.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 08/07/2020 18:42

Not a good idea, your feedback is correct.

whichteaareyou · 08/07/2020 18:43

@MissRabbitIsExhausted thought the exact same thing

SallyWD · 08/07/2020 18:44

There's nothing good about! It just sounds ugly and heavy.

moolaalaa · 08/07/2020 18:44

"I actually think this is a joke."

I guess you dont deal with the general public on a frequent basis.

Nquartz · 08/07/2020 18:45

Please don't

MamaDane · 08/07/2020 18:46

Oh no, don't name him that. Please find an alternative

CoffeeBeansGalore · 08/07/2020 18:46

First thought was Hodgkins Lymphoma. Sorry.

labyrinthloafer · 08/07/2020 18:46

Another one who thought hodgepodge here

IsMiseMorag · 08/07/2020 18:46

No, really. Don't.

MamaDane · 08/07/2020 18:47

SilverOtter · 08/07/2020 18:49

Babs709 · 08/07/2020 18:50

I thought of hedgehog too. Big no from me too, sorry OP.

Elouera · 08/07/2020 18:53

Is this a real post? Confused???
Its just an awful sounding word, not to mention its sounds like stodge & podge. Do those type of words no conger up a very short, fat, person that can barely walk??? Its a surname at best and not one to inflict on a child as a first name!

Grinchlywords · 08/07/2020 18:55

Hodge was Samuel Johnson's cat. A very fine cat indeed.

Ulrikaka · 08/07/2020 18:59

Bloody awful.

user1493494961 · 08/07/2020 19:05

Well, at least your friends and acquaintances have been honest with you, it is dreadful.

user1493494961 · 08/07/2020 19:07

I'm wondering what the other options are.

SoupDragon · 08/07/2020 19:09

I think it's awful.

I can imagine a Labrador being called it though.

Millicent10 · 08/07/2020 19:19

Ummm, anything else on the list? If so, go with one of those.

heysugar · 08/07/2020 19:21

Dreadful, really bad. It just doesn't sound nice. It's not even a name that he would grow into as it's a terrible adult name too. Sorry.
