So far I like ~ Alistair, Angus, Barnaby, Benedict, Edward, Felix, Fabian, Gabriel, Hector, Kaspar, Maxwell, Peter, Rupert, Rufus, Stanley

However..... I can't get my husband on board with any despite my best efforts to really sell them all to him. Could you maybe help with suggestions? DH doesn't have a style it's just he hears them and shoots them down, which doesn't help, I know. More like the names above please that I can win DH over with?

Oh I'm just adding Willbur too, what do think of that?

It's funny but when you suggest names to someone it's too easy for them to shoot them down. Stop suggesting them. Get him to come up with a list. Or download some lists of say thirty names and look at them separately, compare which you liked and didn't.

How about Eben?

albazavi · 22/06/2020 19:29

Some gorgeous names there OP. We had Felix, Gabriel, Barnaby and Angus on our list. We went with Jude in the end- but also had Kit on our list. We love our choice but slightly sad we didn't go with Barnaby- it's an amazing name.

Love Wilbur!

And most of your suggestions too- especially Edward, barnaby and Rufus

Other ideas:

Wilf
Jasper
Joshua
Seth
Oliver
Aaron
Xavier
Otto
Harry/Harrison
Enzo
Sebastian
Hugo
Quin
Louis
Ludo

Is Eben "eee-Ben"? Like Eden with a b? Love Kit and Jasper (but becoming too popular)

For those that share names on my list, which did you and your DH's agree on eventually?

sorryiasked · 23/06/2020 11:37

@Tiredteds Eben is usually pronounced Ehbun with a short e like egg.
Similar to Ethan but much nicer in my view.

Tiredteds · 23/06/2020 11:38

So like the start of Ebony, is that right?

Wilbur and James are so gorgeous. I agree with you about James @Tiredteds , I tend to like less traditional names but there's something really special about James

Whatsyourflava · 23/06/2020 11:46

Love Austin

Angel2702 · 23/06/2020 11:50

Edwin

I really love Caspian, Emrys and Griffin

sibbys · 23/06/2020 12:27

Wilbur

sibbys · 23/06/2020 12:30

(I wrote Wilbur before reading the comments. It's really a great name)

Tiredteds · 23/06/2020 13:23

Edwin is another I'll suggest to DH very cleverly haha!

Yes Wilbur is really lovely, great to see love for the name

Yes eben sounds like ebony, much better description than I managed!

Tiredteds · 23/06/2020 22:10

@sorryiasked thank you, I quite like it.

@Whatsyourflava I really think James is such a timeless handsome name. I'm really torn over James and Edward because of their popularity but I don't know of any of either younger than 29 currently.

My favourites otherwise are Wilbur, Barnaby and Rupert. Hope I could be brave enough to go for Barnaby... DH on the other hand lol!

Also, Xander. Love that too!
