Boys name help please

Me and my partner can't agree on a boys name - or rather he doesn't seem to like any of the ones I love. This is our second DS, first is called Wren.

My favourite is Rafferty (Rafe/Rae)
DP's favourite is Perrin (Perri)
We both like but don't love:
Rufus
Rowan
Arthur (Artie)

Any suggestions welcome please!

We're going with Digby for a boy if that helps

Acer is a brand of computers!

Rafferty is nice and as you've said there are options for nicknames. Not a fan of Perrin personally.

Whatsyourflava · 15/06/2020 20:15

Wren is a lovely name for your first son, I especially love Wren for a boy.

Rafferty (Rafe/Rae) It's ok but there's a lot of R names about and that makes it a bit less special to my ears. (See below)
Perrin (Perri) never heard this name before will give it some thought

Rufus - feels a little dog-like but it's ok but another R name.
Rowan - I think this name is too common/popular for your tastes. I prefer it as a girls name but it would annoy me it's so similar to the number 1 fastest rising boy name RoMan (with an M) and I don't like nickname Row. 2 Romans in my NCT group of 8 babies.
Arthur (Artie) I really adore this name and I think it's more timeless than say Rowan, as Arthur has been in and out of the top 100 throughout history (unlike Rowan which has never been in the top 100 til recently, same with Roman). I love Arthur but feel it's probably too common for you tastes ? It's getting extremely popular- would that bother you? If it wouldn't then I'd use it as I adore it.

Acer is a tree too! I taught a lovely Acer a few years ago. Never connected it to the computers!!

IggyAce · 15/06/2020 20:33

Oakley
Ezekiel nn Zeke
Archer

I will suggest the very similar Pippin nn Pip or Peregrine nn Pip could be a quirky theme with Wren

I will also put forward

Oswald
Camelot
Jarvis
Cormac
Crispin
Roiben
Jobe
Drake

I know a Moss, which I think is cool. Also an August, Griffin, River (girl, but I love for a boy and Iver. Or there’s Asa, if you like Acer but not the laptop connection.

hypatiently · 15/06/2020 20:53

Peregrine or Hawthorn?

hypatiently · 15/06/2020 20:55

123Dancewithme · 15/06/2020 23:53

MrsGilly1 · 16/06/2020 21:42

romillyoikawa · 17/06/2020 00:18

I believe the name Oikawa is a perfect name for a son, it is a beautiful and unique name

RJ25 · 17/06/2020 12:50

Percy, Reid or Ren maybe?

Clemmie83 · 17/06/2020 17:12

I personally love Rafferty, it's one of my favourite names!

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 17/06/2020 17:17

Asa is better than Acer. Definitely think laptops with Acer.

sweetnosugar · 17/06/2020 17:30

Wren is lovely.
Nature inspired boy names..
Bear
Woody
River

Abit of a mix...
Theo
Ernie
Axel
Albie

Lavenderblues · 17/06/2020 18:40

Asa is a well known girls name in Sweden. To me it looks very feminine. I much prefer Acer for a boy.

AragornsManlyStubble · 18/06/2020 19:01

Perrin is nice, but the ‘I’ ending of Perri is feminine to my eyes. Would go with the Perry spelling.
