Super shocked after 3 DDs that we’ve just found out DC4 is a DS!

I’d quite like another 3-syllable name. I like these but not in love with any yet...

Theodore
Jonathan
William
Zachary
Leopold

Favourites? Other suggestion?

TIA

I think Theodore goes perfectly with your DDs names

AristotleAteMyHamster · 10/06/2020 12:34

I thought Felix or Oscar, but if you want three syllables then I like Dominic

Enterthedragons · 10/06/2020 12:45

I think I might agree with you Awkward. Theodore does seem to tick all the boxes and I like the nicknames. It’s more popular than the girls’ names but I don’t suppose that really matters does it?

Any ideas for middle names that work nicely with Theodore?

Theodore James
Theodore Henry
Theodore Thomas

Would you use a family name as the middle name? Maybe your DH?

Theodore William
Theodore Ambrose

Theodore Frederick
Theodore Asher
Theodore Ezra
Theodore Isaac
Theodore Barnaby
Theodore Elliott

Before I opened the thread my immediate thought was Jonathan, go with that, it's lovely and underused

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/06/2020 19:07

Theodore
Lytton
Rupert
Alexander (timeless)
Edward

Yankathebear · 11/06/2020 19:14

Your girls names are so beautiful.

Edward is gorgeous! How about Edwin?

I like
Rupert
Jasper
Quinton
Rowan
Barnaby (I realise that this is the only 3 syllable name in my suggestions!)

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/06/2020 19:16

Also Christopher (Kit?)

FizzyGreenWater · 11/06/2020 20:13

Theodore goes well, but by gum it's popular, and he will 100% be Theo and join the billion other Theos that sit alongside the Maxes and Frankies and Finns. I love the name by the way, but if you're looking for something even slightly unusual Theodore is not it.

Of your initial list, I would go for Jonathan to fit that bill and have a little Jonty.

PetraRabbit · 11/06/2020 20:45

I don't think if matters if you choose a more popular name than your girls' ones. There is more variety and creativity in girls' names so people tend to expect one step less unusual compared to their sister (s). And I don't think Harriet is unusual at all- I know a few. With your girls' names I'd go with something traditional- Edward is a lovely choice. Jonathan is great. I wouldn't go down the Lysander/Ambrose road- those are quite romantic names and your girl names don't really fit that. What about Dominic? Especially if he's born on a Sunday.

PetraRabbit · 11/06/2020 20:52

Sorry.....Theodore is great too.

Theodore Charles
Theodore James
Theodore Wilfred
Theodore Lucas

Mamajones89 · 11/06/2020 21:28

Really like Theodore with your girls names. William is a great name too!

Tootletum · 11/06/2020 21:31

I like Lucian.

Tootletum · 11/06/2020 21:32

What about Jolyon?

Wishingstarr · 11/06/2020 21:37

Underused class boys names:

John
Jonathan
Peter
Leander
Tiberius (we know one called Tibbi 😄)
Benedict
Myles/Miles
Anthony
Angus

We have a 13 yr old Gabriel and his name has worked well in 3 countries (relocations) it's classic and familiar in many cultures.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/06/2020 21:50

Or even David???!

SE13Mummy · 11/06/2020 21:56

Gabriel, Theodore, Benedict, Josiah and Frederick would fit nicely alongside the girls' names. I also think Otis, Edward, Samuel or Monty would work.

sweetnosugar · 14/06/2020 09:14

Theodore is lovely!!

Theodore James is what I’d go for. Smile

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 14/06/2020 09:43

Theo James (the actor) is lovely too Wink.

Etinox · 14/06/2020 09:51

Theodore is lovely. However you could use Benjamin correctly! It means last born and makes my teeth itch when given to first-borns!
