Cassius is my favourite out of those

SionnachRua · 01/06/2020 17:30

I am not aware of any particular names that belong solely to, or in any way describe, people who can claim 'mixed' heritage. (At least not in the U.K.) So I can think of no reason whatsoever (other than parental preference) why mixed heritage children should be excluded from use of those names which provide the fewest barriers to achievement.

Oh please. OP wanted advice on which of her three names sounded strongest. She did not ask for strong names in general.

You suggested an entirely different set of names based on the royal family, as white British as can be...play dumb if you like but it isn't fooling anyone.

Cassius.
I’ve never heard of Tareyon or Ishiah and wouldn’t be sure how to say them.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/06/2020 17:50

Cassius is a good strong name. Also Casimir is great.

Isaiah is lovely, if you meant that. Otherwise Isiah just looks like a spelling mistake, I'm afraid.

Tareyon is not to my taste at all.

Ellmau · 01/06/2020 23:44

Cassius.

KrakowDawn · 01/06/2020 23:52

Cassius is often pronounced "cashus" in UK, just be aware.

Aclh13 · 02/06/2020 01:17

@K1mberlylauren you know my opinion, go for Tareyon x

DramaAlpaca · 02/06/2020 02:05

Cassius is the best of the bunch.

SnuggyBuggy · 02/06/2020 06:39

I also like Isaiah if that's what you meant. Ishiah looks like a misspelling or how you would pronounce Isaiah with a lisp.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/06/2020 06:41

I would think you've made them up, apart from Cassius.

DemolitionCrew · 02/06/2020 06:57

I like ishiah best but only if spelled and pronounced Isaiah .
Tareyon sounds Game Of Thrones even If it isn’t.
Cassius sounds a bit like something someone might name their Pitbull.

weepingwillow22 · 02/06/2020 06:57

Bear in mind Cassius is derived from the Latin cassus (hollow, empty) so not exactly strong although the associations of the name are.

EveryoneLoves09876 · 02/06/2020 11:29

How do you pronounce Tareyon? I like Cassius.

notalwaysalondoner · 02/06/2020 12:56

Cassius.

Assume Ishiah is a misspelling and you meant Isaiah? Which is also a lovely name.

Don’t like Tareyon, sounds made up.

Twisique · 02/06/2020 17:23

Cassius!

How about Cassius Elijah Smile

user1493494961 · 02/06/2020 20:56

Cassius is the nicest. The other two sound made up.

Noname99 · 02/06/2020 22:30

Jesus wept..... firstly Ishiah is an ancient name - it’s origins are in Hebrew - it’s different to Isiah so all you rude ignorant folk claiming the op can’t spell need to check the damn bible!

And secondly, to all the “can’t pronounce it” brigade ..... fucking learn! How hard is it to learn how to pronounce a name? Britain truly is fucked if we can’t cope with a little diversity in names. Perhaps we should just go back to colonial times and just remove any names from the have non Anglo Saxon letter patterns that reflect ethnic minority cultures and insist they all get a good ol’ British name!

@Noname99

Hopefully your son will see the funny side when he has his name mispronounced for the 500th time.

NoLongerAnEasyTarget · 04/06/2020 02:10

Cassius sounds the strongest out of the three.

Also I love it.

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/06/2020 02:57

Ishiah is nice but religious so if you aren't, I wouldn't. Cassius is great.

Yester · 04/06/2020 03:07

I have a name a bit like Ishiah that people constantly can't say right. As long as you don't mind it it doesn't matter. Though I hate spelling it as my long surname also needs spelling about 10 times a day!!!

CuppaZa · 04/06/2020 03:48

I like Ishiah the most. Cassius could be shortened to Cassie, which to me is not a strong name

K1mberlylauren · 04/06/2020 08:25

@Wheresthebiffer2 oh shut up go talk your negativeness somewhere else
