Any of the last 3 but not Humphrey!

TheYellowOfTheEgg · 31/05/2020 22:36

I don't like any of them.

NuffSaidSam · 31/05/2020 22:36

Humphrey is cute for a baby and sweet for an old man, but imagine being a 17 year old lad called Humphrey! It's dreadful. So is Walter.

Wilfred and Ralph are both ok.

Aquamarine1029 · 31/05/2020 22:37

No way. I knew a Humphrey and everyone called him Hump. Horrible name.

TildaTurnip · 31/05/2020 22:39

Out of those, Wilfred. Humphrey is terribly heavy and sad sounding and Humph is more of a noise than a name. Or a description of someone in a bad mood.

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 31/05/2020 22:39

Say no more

Humphrey?
EmpressLangClegInChair · 31/05/2020 22:40

Sir Humphrey Appleby.

borntohula · 31/05/2020 22:41

Don't like that at all, if you want a nice boys' name that sounds like an old man's name, go for George or something?

isabellerossignol · 31/05/2020 22:44

Humphrey is very cute as an elephant. But like everyone else I associate it with Yes Minister.

Ralph is forever tainted by the Judy Blume 'Forever' book.

Wilfred would be my preference out of your list.

Keepyourginup · 31/05/2020 22:44

Humphrey is awful! His nickname will be 'Hump:....

AudacityOfHope · 31/05/2020 22:45

Cannot imagine seeing my baby's gorgeous little face for the first time and going 'he's definitely a Humphrey' Confused

mrwalkensir · 31/05/2020 22:57

Humphrey Lyttleton was a wonderful Humph. Guess it'll always be a bit out there though

DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2020 22:59

We clearly don't have the same taste in names.

HedgeHogFoxBadger · 31/05/2020 23:23

Rupert? Bertie?

Don't like any of them.

TippledPink · 31/05/2020 23:26

Don't like any of them- my DD is 9, she has a Humphrey in her year, his mum calls him Humpf, makes me cringe so bad!!! Why do that to a child?!

Viviennemary · 31/05/2020 23:26

It is beyond dire.

NeutralJanet · 31/05/2020 23:30

Humphrey is dire and Wilfred is not much better. Ralph is ok, just Ralph not Ralphie.

NuffSaidSam · 31/05/2020 23:31

Rupert is also dreadful.

Bertie is cute if he is Robert or Albert (not Cuthbert or Dilbert) so he has a name for when he's a grown up.

POP7777777 · 31/05/2020 23:33

I really don't like the names Humph or Humphrey. Ralph and Ralphie are sweet though.

borntohula · 31/05/2020 23:36

Bertie is quite cute. Albie is even better imo. What about Arthur?

bridgetreilly · 31/05/2020 23:38

Humphrey! I think it's a brilliant name and I don't really know why other people don't love it too. If you like it, go for it.

campion · 31/05/2020 23:42

A college friend's car was called Humphrey because the first 3 reg letters were Hmp followed by 3 etc. So I think of an old banger but you wouldn't.
But it's an awful name to saddle someone with. There are much nicer names out there.

ScreamingKid · 31/05/2020 23:43

It's up to you. But you do realise he will have various nicknames involving the words 'Humping' or 'Hump'.
