We're looking for a name for our baby girl which works in here in the UK and Turkey. As we originally from Turkey we'd love to find something meaningful in both languages .

So I came up with this name ''Eliz''. It's a cool, modern name in Turkey but not sure if it's same in here as it's a short form of Elisabeth.

Or would you rather ''Eliza'' ? Which one works best you think ?

Thanks in advance ! :)

Eliz is lovely. Great to have your culture in her name. Very pretty OP.

I used to work with an Eliz. I was never quite sure how it was supposed to be pronounced, but I think she called herself ‘Liz’ but wrote it down as Eliz. Within our team (she was in a different department) we always referred to her as ‘E-Liz‘ (a bit like how you’d say ‘e-mail’), but I don’t think I would have said that to her face, mainly because I had no idea if the ‘e’ was supposed to be pronounced or not.

E-Liz didn’t sound quite right somehow, but I’m not sure what the E was for if she really was just ‘Liz’. It was rather confusing!
