Am sure this must have been done before but I went and did a search and nothing came up. We both like Zoey/Zoe but can't decide on the spelling. I like Zoe and he likes Zoey. I think Zoey is too America but then Zoe does look like it would rhyme with Joe. So I just want to get an idea of your thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Zoe with or without dots is pronounced Zoh-ee in UK> So no need for the y which just looks like you didn't know how the original name was spelled.

Just Zoe or Zoë.

AdaColeman · 17/05/2020 08:04

Zoë is the way to go.

zipzap02 · 17/05/2020 08:05

Zoe

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2020 08:12

Zoë has been around long enough that’s pronounciation is widely understood, with or without the dots, but the dots do make it correct. Like Niamh and Siobhan are recognised by non-Irish speakers.

@Blackbear19 in what world does Zoe rhyme with Joe?? Confused

Maybelatte · 17/05/2020 08:23

Zoe, there’s no need for the Y.

beautifulmonument · 17/05/2020 08:43

Zoë

FeedMeSantiago · 17/05/2020 08:49

If you're in the UK people will know how to say Zoe/Zoë.

Zoey/Zooey just looks wrong to me, looks like it should be pronounced Zoo-ey.

ArriettyJones · 17/05/2020 08:53

Zoe.

Whatsyourflava · 17/05/2020 09:08

Zoe
So beautiful

Zoey sounds really downmarket and as if you don't know how to spell.

99.9999% of people will know how to pronounce Zoe

NannyR · 17/05/2020 09:13

Definitely Zoe. It's a very well known name, can't imagine anyone pronouncing it like Joe. Adding the -y looks like you are trying to make the spelling a bit more unique.

dreamingofyellowandnavy · 17/05/2020 09:30

I'm glad you're all with me and not my husband! 😝. I'm going to push strongly for Zoe!

Zoe

BessMarvin · 17/05/2020 09:42

Zooey Deschanel spells it Zooey (not one of your options but someone mentioned it earlier) and I always want to pronounce it so it rhymes with gooey. (Like a gooey dessert.)

tamsintamsout · 17/05/2020 09:45

You should only use Zooey if you want to make a JD Salinger reference.

MikeUniformMike · 17/05/2020 09:49

Zoe. She'll be Zo to her friends.Zoey looks like you can't spell.

connellwaldron · 17/05/2020 09:51

Zoe. 100%. Y on the end looks silly. Love the name.

sibbys · 17/05/2020 09:51

Pinkypink · 17/05/2020 10:19

Zoe
The 'y' is a bit tacky imo

greathat · 17/05/2020 10:41

I'm in a Zooey mood today. Let's go watch some monkeys

Mum2B36 · 17/05/2020 19:00

Dontneedhomework · 17/05/2020 22:53
