I think it's lovely. It was almost dd's name but we chose something else in the end. There's a Marianne at her school though which is strange as it's pretty uncommon.

I LOVE it. And Marianne Faithfull was/is super super cool. (Uber rock chick, 60’s beatnik babe/it girl and mick jaggers girlfriend for those who don’t know her)!

Absolutely love it. I am a big Cohen fan though. Like PPs have said, everyone knows it the name, but it’s really unusual. Hardly any babies named Marianne in recent years. I would choose it, but our surname ends with an ‘an’ so it doesn’t work.
