I really love this name. What do other people think?

OP posts:

Mucklowe · 06/05/2020 18:38

Absolutely not.

It's the sort of name people use when they're taking the piss out of middle class parents and kids. "Hadrian, come and eat your brioche!" etc. etc. See also Ptolemy and Tarquin.

whatausername · 06/05/2020 18:41

Nice enough, wouldn't use it myself but it's uncommon without being ridiculous which are big bonuses imo.

JamieLeeCurtains · 06/05/2020 18:45

Maybe, erm, Marcus? Justin(ian)?

Please don't condemn your child to the name Hadrian. If you're a fan of Hadrian's Wall, there are some lovely names of places along it. Milecastle 42, for example.

BrandyandBabycham · 06/05/2020 18:52

Sorry but absolutely not OP!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/05/2020 19:18

I can't like it. Can see people thinking it was Adrian though.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/05/2020 19:19

That was meant to be QUITE like it, not can't like it.

Northumberlandlass · 06/05/2020 19:20

Wall.....just no.

KingOfDogShite · 06/05/2020 19:22

I like it tbh but I think it’s be misheard as Adrian even day throughout his life which could come to be quite irritating.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/05/2020 19:24

No. Especially if your surname is Wall.

donquixotedelamancha · 06/05/2020 19:26

It's spelled Adrian, OP.

No. Especially if your surname is Wall.

Surely that would be the only circumstances in which this suddenly becomes a great idea :-)

Malysh · 06/05/2020 19:37

I like it. I think it looks more badass than Adrian. Not sure why other posters feel so negative about it, it's a well established name and unlikely to draw attention or bullying.

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/05/2020 19:48

I really like it, we considered it for our babies (had girls anyway). It's different but not unheard of, plus love the sound

Hippopotas · 06/05/2020 19:55

@donquixotedelamancha it’s not spelt Adrian. Adrian is derived from the name Hadrian. The name Hadrian came first.

OP posts:
JoesExotic · 06/05/2020 19:56

I really like it. And Adrian.

JacobReesMogadishu · 06/05/2020 19:58

Oh I like it.

K1mberlylauren · 06/05/2020 19:58

Love unusual names go for it, annoys me when people say please don’t call him this and that! Go for it it’s different you don’t want a horrible common name !!

IHaveBrilloHair · 06/05/2020 19:59

No.

donquixotedelamancha · 06/05/2020 20:00

it’s not spelt Adrian. Adrian is derived from the name Hadrian. The name Hadrian came first.

Really? You thought that post was serious, even with the second comment?

Cosyblanky · 06/05/2020 20:02

He's going to spend his life being asked 'Like the wall?' (if you live in the UK)

Ughmaybenot · 06/05/2020 20:04

He’d better get used to ‘Like the wall?’

I don’t like it myself, it doesn’t ring well somehow.

Hayden? Aidan? Adrian?

Northernsoullover · 06/05/2020 20:06

Nickname Hades? Not good.

viques · 06/05/2020 20:11

I am obviously the only one hearing it in a Hyacinth Bucket saying Adrian in a trying to be posh voice.

Don't do it, call him Canute instead. And if you really wanted to ruin his life, insist on spelling it Cnut.

Ellmau · 06/05/2020 20:35

Totally the wall.

Why not Adrian?

Charlottejbt · 06/05/2020 20:46

I like it.

123Dancewithme · 06/05/2020 21:09

I think it’s better than Adrian
