Does this go or sound silly? Opinions and suggestions please...

Prefer Alice Elizabeth as I don’t like the two names to start with the same letter, but I may be weird.

Mum2jenny · 02/05/2020 19:20

I think of EE

Whatsyourflava · 02/05/2020 21:15

Edith Elizabeth is gorgeous! I love it
If they're two names you love I wouldn't focus on if they flow perfectly or whatever as middle names are rarely used. I think they're two great names and i would definitely use this name 🥰

Katinkak8 · 02/05/2020 21:18

I think this is a beautiful name. The exact combination was on our list for DD1.

Orphlids · 02/05/2020 21:18

I’m not sure about them both ending in the ‘th’ sound, but that’s certainly not serious enough of a problem to discard using them together. Perfectly acceptable, doesn’t sound silly.

emilybrontescorsett · 02/05/2020 21:19

Gorgeous combination.

SliAnCroix · 02/05/2020 21:22

I love it

Blursula · 02/05/2020 21:23

I love alliterative names. I think it works

daisypond · 02/05/2020 21:26

I like it

ilikebigbuttsandicannotlie · 02/05/2020 21:27

I think it’s nice. Would you shorten to Edie? I heard a mum call a beautiful little girl in the park today. She had blonde ringlets

georgialondon · 02/05/2020 21:33

I find it too Samie. E..th E....th

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 02/05/2020 21:45

Love the name Edith. I knew an Edith many years ago and she made the name so cool when it was very much out of fashion, so that has coloured my judgement. If I'd had a girl, I would have wanted an Edith.

Edith Elizabeth is a lovely combination.

Pinkyplonky · 02/05/2020 21:50

I really don’t like Edith. I like ‘granny’ names but Edith is too ‘granny’ for me...I’d no sooner use Edith than I would Edna or Mavis.
I love Elizabeth but think it’s too same-y with Edith

Mucklowe · 03/05/2020 00:12

Th-th-th.

megletthesecond · 03/05/2020 00:14

Nice but too samey.

TippledPink · 03/05/2020 00:15

I like Edith shortened to Edie- my middle name is Elizabeth and I hate it, although I know it's quite popular on MN, I don't know why. Don't mind the alliteration, no one uses their middle name anyway so I wouldn't be too worried about that.

DramaAlpaca · 03/05/2020 00:15

Too many 'th' sounds for me... it's very lispy, and I'm not mad on Edith.

If it was Edie Elizabeth, however, I'd be saying how gorgeous it is.

TenShortStories · 03/05/2020 00:16

If you'd be referring to her as Edith Elizabeth a lot then it's a bit much with the 2 th sounds. But if Elizabeth is purely a middle name (ie rarely spoken) then it's lovely. Edie Elizabeth flows better if you wanted something that can be said as one.

mrwalkensir · 03/05/2020 00:24

lovely

riotlady · 03/05/2020 00:30

Love it!

wobytide · 03/05/2020 00:31

Knew my mums name would make a comeback eventually

Chillipeanuts · 03/05/2020 00:32

Not entirely sure about Edith (because if an elderly relative) but love Edie. Elizabeth is a classic.

ClementineTangerine · 03/05/2020 00:34

I think they flow well together!

bridgetreilly · 03/05/2020 20:56

I think it's lovely. The 'E' sounds at the start are different and there are four syllables from 'ith' to 'eth'. It doesn't sound matchy or twee to me.

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 03/05/2020 21:01

My youngest is Edith shes 11 months, i wanted Edith Elizabeth but my husband works for EE so we decided against it!! She is Edith Jay instead
