Hi everyone, we would like to give 2 middle names to my child (just to understand, she will have an official name and 2 related to the family that we won't use to call her), but I would like to know if it's compulsory for her to use it when she signs or she books a flight for example, I searched on the gov website but could not find any info, does anyone know?thanks!

I have two middle names. The only time I use them is on official documents like passport applications and the like. But for everyday life, like booking tickets to travel, never. I rarely use my full name for anything unofficial.

I usually put my full name to book a flight, because it is in my passport, but on my qualifications, for example, I just have my forename and surname.

My 2 boys both have 2 middle names. I needed to provide them when I booked flights.

I also have 2 middle names and as pp said, I rarely use either when booking flights etc unless it specifically asks for full name including middles. I have a friend with 3 and she is the same.

My driving license and bank account actually only includes the first of my middle names although I gave both when applying. Giving your child more than one middle name makes no difference at all.

I have 2 middle names and don’t particularly like either. I almost never use them and never have any issues. They are both on my passport but when I book flights I just put my first and last name and it’s always been fine. The only time I ever use my middles names is on something official that specifically asks to include them (electoral roll is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head).
My bank card has my 3 initials plus last name but again, I just put my first and last when making purchases and it always works.
Things may be different in other countries - I’m in the UK

I have two and as they are on my passport I use them to book flights. I don't use them for anything else.

My child has three middle names, so five in total.

Some forms ask for "full name", which means including all your names. Think of the royal family for c example - they use all their names when they get married, on a baby's birth certificate etc.
You'd probably need a child full name on a school application for example.
For anything else, first and surname is fine.

Thank you! And what about the signature? Do you sign with all the names or just forename and surname?

I have 26 letters in my full name. First name is 8, middle name are 4 and 7 last name is 6.

Honestly I would stick with short names, I hate writing my full name out for anything, half the time I dont have the space!
