Hey!

So the title says it all really....
We have a girls name more or less sorted but we can't agree on any boys names.
At. All.

The brief-
I love anything unusual and we both love boho/ nature names. Due this winter so if you can think of any unusual winter style names we could consider/ incorporate that's also a bonus.

Ideally a name that can be said and spelt easily and won't need much correcting.

Im also a fan of space related themes so not apposed to hearing about those or possible combinations (first and middle names).

Go go go! Name my baby! Smile
(Ps- appreciate it's not the easiest of briefs and has made me out to be quite picky but I just have not found THE ONE yet, so I need your help, thank you in advance guys!)

@Whatsyourflava I agree with you with Rowan. It's a lovely name for both boy and girls which is a bonus in my book as I love unisex names but yes it has potential to be way way popular.

I'm not against popular names but I'm also not the kind of person who would call my child a name in the top 100/ top 50. X

Please let us know what you pick!!

LooseyGoosey · 30/04/2020 13:12

You could really go for it with the theme and have Orion Archer or Orion Hunter.

I probably wouldn't go the whole hog myself, but I love the name Orion, and would probably pair it with something more usual like Thomas.

Mamahannah2019 · 30/04/2020 13:29

@Whatsyourflava I will do. We don't know what we are having just yet but I'm a name freak and have to have at least a list of ones we like. If it's a boy I'll report back with the chosen name. We have discussed a few more thanks to your guys' help. So thank you all Smile

@LooseyGoosey I love that name and I think it could work for a girl too. I'd deffo go for something unusual as a middle too. Xxx

@Mamahannah2019 It's really lovely. I quite like the idea of a whole space themed tribe:

Orion
Luna
Cassius
Venus
Nova
Astra

Mamahannah2019 · 30/04/2020 13:38

@LooseyGoosey I love spacey names. I like Astra, Sol, Cosmo and Astrid too which are spacey.

Me and my partner have certainly got lots to discuss. I'm certainly going to have to find out the gender to stop possible arguments though haha x

That’s what my mate said when she named her, now 20 something, son Noah. You cannot predict what will catch on and become the next popular, or even down market, name. All you can do is pick what you like. There are no guarantees it will stay unusual.

Mamahannah2019 · 30/04/2020 16:10

@TinklyLittleLaugh I don't mind if it gets popular a few years down the line but it's always nice to have your child be possibly the only one in their class with that name. I think that's nice anyway.

Let's see. How about some names of some nice winter flowering plants? Easy ones that aren't at all difficult for people to pronounce or spell, like:

Arctostaphylos
Aeonium arboreum atropurpureum
Rhaphiolepis
Pentagramma triangularis.

Mamahannah2019 · 30/04/2020 19:29

@Poodles03 hahahaha!!!

Mamahannah2019 · 01/05/2020 10:44

@wejammin oh you have absolutely fantastic taste! I love all your children's names and also the names you've suggested are right up my street. X

Mamahannah2019 · 01/05/2020 10:44

@HelloItsmeAgain1 I've never considered Sola. That's going on my list thank you xxx

OP posts:
Cincoperros · 03/05/2020 01:06

Be a little bit careful with "Sola"... It means alone (female version) in Spanish.
I love love love Orion, a few people have suggested that

Cincoperros · 03/05/2020 01:15

I'm going on a Spanish tangent, but
You could consider Nieve (Ni-eh-veh) means snow.
Cielo (See-el-oh) means sky/heaven
Río (sounds like its said) - river

More of a girl's name, Estrella (Es-tray-a) meaning star.
