Are you wanting opinions on the names, or more names to add to the list?

MikeUniformMike · 28/04/2020 12:15

Are you based in the UK and are you originally from another country?

Whatsyourflava · 28/04/2020 12:39

Margot is my favourite love it
If not how about Martha or Mabel

Yes did you want opinions or suggestions?

Happygolucky71 · 28/04/2020 12:39

Margot is my favourite of the three

Helskitchen · 28/04/2020 12:43

Margot is also my favourite from your list.

Similar suggestions: Ingrid, Anneli, Fleur or Marie could fit your surname too? I will keep thinking...

peperethecat · 28/04/2020 12:43

I probably wouldn't spell Freja with a J if living in the UK.

Margot is nice but I think it's becoming very popular and there are potentially some pronunciation issues.

Petra is lovely, unusual, very fresh, impossible to mispronounce.

mamablondie2 · 28/04/2020 12:44

Margot is gorgeous I really love it.

bulliedintonamechange · 28/04/2020 12:45

I love Margot. My husband hates it otherwise I would be calling my little girl that

elfran · 28/04/2020 12:47

I love them all. Slight preference for Petra because it's the least popular and therefore the most refreshing, to my ears.

I like that spelling of Freja, but not sure how much difference a spelling really makes in setting it apart from all the Freyas out there. Margot/Margo/Margaux has become so popular, I know three under the age of 4. But it's still a lovely name.

Blursula · 28/04/2020 12:48

I love Freja (although Freya is my preferred spelling personally) and I was thinking the other day how underused Petra is - it’s simple and not frilly and quite unheard of these days!

Personally I’m not keen on Margot because my brain seems to read it as ‘maggot’ but that’s probably just me being weird.

MikeUniformMike · 28/04/2020 12:57

Freya - a bit too popular. Freja will be misspelt and some will say the j.
Petra, nice but might be a bit dated in Germany. Pietra is nice too. Older people will associate Petra with a Blue Peter dog.
Margot - it's ok

Which sounds nicest with the surname?

87Callista · 28/04/2020 12:59

I have a feeling Margot is picking up popularity because of Margot Robbie and the whole vintage name thing.
Either way I like it too and have been loving Bridget and Audrey too.

So, I suggest to you:
Helena
Clover
Bridget
Lavinia
Audrey
Lauren
Freya
Minerva
Lucille

peperethecat · 28/04/2020 13:00

Petra reminds me of Petra from Jane the Virgin, and I love her.

chugmonkey · 28/04/2020 13:06

I think Freja has been done to death already ( well it has around here), Margot too ( although it's a lovely name).
Isla is very pretty, I only know one.

How about Marianne? Or Harriet ( Hatty for short)? Sometimes three syllables balances out a double barrelled surname better than two.

LotusClover · 28/04/2020 13:30

Petra is my favourite, it's uncommon and pretty.

Margot isn't my cup of tea but it seems to be growing in popularity.

Personally I wouldn't spell Freja with a j unless I had some kind of Nordic connection. But it is nice. Freya is extremely popular though and she will most likely have to correct a lot of people who will spell it as Freya.

Petra is beautiful
