What are your honest opinions on the name Daisy?
Ive looked at some previous threads and Daisy has been preferred to as child like. Not a grown up name. However I once knew a Daisy who was 106 years old. And the name never did her wrong.
My son also loves picking Daisies as he says they are pretty.
Would it sit well next to Noah?
Only slight reservation is my surname.
Look toward to reason your comments.
Thanks.

Awful. Doesn’t work on an adult.

ElMadgo · 25/04/2020 23:21

I disagree, I think it’s a beautiful name

DivaRainbow · 25/04/2020 23:23

I love the name Daisy. Its definitely one of my baby names for next time 😁😁

Whatsyourflava · 25/04/2020 23:24

I adore it. One of my favourite names and I think it works well into adulthood

Nanalisa60 · 25/04/2020 23:25

I just love the name Daisy!! Such a pretty name.

ploughingthrough · 25/04/2020 23:34

I love Daisy. I hate all this 'too cutesy to be taken seriously as an adult' thing you get on Mumsnet. I have a 'cutesy' name and it doesn't appear to have stopped me making it to adult life with a good professional job. There are a ton of kids with flower names - I'm sure many of them will also make it to where they want to be 😂
If you like Daisy them pick it - it's a lovely name.

babynamelover · 25/04/2020 23:38

I don't think Daisy fits in the cutesy nickname grouping it's a very old flower name. I think it ages well and can't really be compared to Millie, Gracie etc.

I love it with Noah 😍

Rafflesway · 25/04/2020 23:39

Beautiful name!

ofwarren · 25/04/2020 23:40

Lovely name and goes well with your son's name too.

CorianderLord · 25/04/2020 23:44

Twee. I was going to be called Daisy for a while but luckily they changed it as it would not suit me.

Plus what if they're not feminine? A muscular , strong woman called Daisy?

AdaColeman · 25/04/2020 23:45

It’s a sweet pretty name. In Europe it’s often used as a nickname for Marguerite which is also a lovely name, and a very “grown up” name.

MaggieMagpie357 · 25/04/2020 23:47

It's my DD2's name, so I'm a bit biased. But I think it's lovely. Surprisingly only a couple of them at her 650+ pupil school too.

DramaAlpaca · 26/04/2020 00:11

It's pretty, but too sweet and twee for me.

june2007 · 26/04/2020 00:18

It,s perfectly exceprable.

123Dancewithme · 26/04/2020 00:23

Lovely and goes well with Noah

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 26/04/2020 00:39

I have 27 yr old Daisy. She absolutely suits her name. Graduated in Psychology. Now works in the City as trainee investment banker. It's strong name and

Enough4me · 26/04/2020 00:42

Goes well with Noah.

suspended · 26/04/2020 00:45

It's nice but dull

YourWinter · 26/04/2020 00:46

It's lovely, my favourite 'flower' name.

copperoliver · 26/04/2020 00:48

Lovely and every Daisy I have known as been such a nice person. X

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/04/2020 03:27

It's gorgeous. I almost changed my dds na me from Molly to Daisy when she was a month old. I sometimes wish I had have done.
I love sweet girly twee names. I'll hold my hands up.

daisypond · 26/04/2020 06:13

I don’t dislike it but would use it as a nickname for Margaret - which it is.

ArriettyJones · 26/04/2020 06:22

I’d put Marguerite on the birth certificate and use Daisy day to day.

I think giving a child name options is a real positive in the internet/social media age. Not only does it allow them to have a more somber sounding name for whatever reason if they choose, it helps with issues like internet anonymity and identity theft (potential is employers trawling SM and so on).

MsTSwift · 26/04/2020 06:42

The problem with these cutesy names is they really don’t work on some women. We nearly called dd1 a slightly cutesy name beginning with same letter as our surname. She is a low key quite serious 13 year old now it would have been a terrible choice she snorts with derision at the sound of it. Dd2 would have rocked the name but you’ve no way of knowing that with a newborn.
