hey, currently struggling on a boys name We’re not too keen on Vincent but like Vinnie or Vince. Just wondering what people thought..... which is best vinnie or Vince?..... is Vinnie too casual to use at job interviews etc later on in life or not?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated Smile

If I met a Vinnie or a Vince I would automatically assume that their name was Vincent. And I would think it weird if either were used in a professional context.

Better than Bradley or Stanley if that's you again!!
Vincent on bc with Vinnie for everyday use!

JungleGiraffe · 19/04/2020 22:36

Vinnie can also be short for Calvin

Whatsyourflava · 19/04/2020 22:52

@Windyatthebeach ha I was thinking the same thing. I keep saying the same thing on these threads! If the OP is all the same person - Vincent /Vinnie /Vince are all fine. I prefer Stanley I think. But like both names. I think you’re going to hear the same comments again and again

Stanley 💙

I know a Vinnie who is Vincenzo (Italian family) which I think is lovely.

Jamiladodger · 20/04/2020 19:10

Vincent

I know one Vinnie - Vincenzo, he's Italian.

Thought I’d add something @Mommypower

You say “will Vinnie be too casual for job interviews”

Remember in 20 years when “Vinnie” is having interviews, the other candidates will all be called names like “Alfie” “Archie”, Ronnie” and “Albie” (all top 100 names). There’s just no way some boss in 20 years will raise an eyebrow at “Vinnie”. I doubt they’d even raise an eyebrow at Fox or Wolf or River (all getting increasingly more popular)

I prefer Stanley to Vinnie as Stanley is a bit different to all the “IE” names I’ve listed above so feels a bit more special to me than Vinnie or Vince but I like both options

Bienentrinkwasser · 20/04/2020 19:20

I like Vince. Vinnie is just in the same vintage gangster vein as Ronnie, Reggie, Archie etc. Which are becoming really common (and a bit chavvy 😬).

Jossina · 20/04/2020 21:57

Vic is also a nickname for Vincent

Thefaceofboe · 20/04/2020 22:32

Love the name Vinny but really don’t like Vince.

Astronica · 21/04/2020 07:16

I much prefer Vince. Much better name to go through life with. You can then sometimes call him Vinny for a nickname if you want.
