Hi all, DH and I are discussing names and this one we actually seem to agree on. What are your thoughts?

It's come up on a couple of threads but I thought it may be helpful for us and some others to have some thoughts on this name itself.

Makes me think of Mr Burns from the Simpsons!

I like it, I know a little Monty who's 3, a lovely boy and it really suits him.

I know two Montys, they are both Westies.

As a nickname for Montagu it could work. Depends on your surname.

@MrsGrindah Monty Don is a grown up. It doesnt sound childish on him I don't think?

I think we would've used Montague or Montgomery for the fn and Monty for nn. It's pretty much gone from our list now though haha!

He adores his name too!! BTW he's 13

We know a Monty, he’s 8 now and it’s a fab name.

I actually really like it for both a little boy & a man. I thInk its at and a shame you appear to have discounted it now.

There are names I think are better for animals (Rex, Felix, Rufus etc) but not Monty.

I know a boy called Monty, no one thinks he's a Labrador. I think he gets called Mont quite a bit which I'm not so keen on.

Really not keen sounds like a bumbling posh man in red trousers
