Hi, we're having a boy and have decided on a name, but not the spelling! He's not going to be called Zachary/Zakary on the birth cert, we want the shortened version only. Which spelling would you go for?

We have a Zachary who is a Zak - just prefer how it looks

Florrieboo · 17/04/2020 23:44

Zack seems to be the most commonly used spelling where I am.

CherryValance · 17/04/2020 23:53

I have a Zac, but his full name is Isaac

123Dancewithme · 18/04/2020 00:30

Zack looks more like a full name whereas Zach looks like it should be short for Zachary.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 18/04/2020 10:58

Zach for sure. Zac is ok. I agree that Zak looks like an exclamation from a comic book. And yes, my eyes have gone funny from reading the word Zach so many times!

MrsEricBana · 18/04/2020 11:01

Zac for me.

Zach, but I’m biased as i have one!! He is the most perfect little boy 👦

Zak 😊

TenThousandSpoons · 18/04/2020 21:20

I prefer Zack, especially if only using the short version. Zach to me really suggests that the full name is Zachary whereas Zack looks like a name in its own right. Zac/Zak don’t look complete to me.

MikeUniformMike · 18/04/2020 21:27

Zac

MissT2095 · 18/04/2020 21:34

I have a Zachary which we shorten to Zach. You wouldn't believe the spellings we've had on cards though Hmm

Staffori · 19/04/2020 00:12

I agree with TenThousandSpoons. I like Zac and Zach as short forms but as a whole name, I think I'd plump for Zack.
