Names reflecting birth during pandemic/crisis?

Sorry if this has been done, but I haven't seen a thread on it.

I've seen some quite funny memes suggesting names for babies born during the pandemic e.g. Demi nn for Pandemic, Tina nn for Quarantine.

It got me thinking... do you think there might be a rise in names like Hope, Faith, Joy? I don't know the sex of my baby but I've suddenly started leaning towards Hope as a possible first or middle name for a girl. Never considered it before.

What other names (not necessarily virtue names) might 'work' to reflect the fact a child was born during this very strange period in history?

I'm not necessarily looking for a name like this, just curious to see if people have any thoughts!

I like Iris, meaning rainbow. Or maybe Gaia (Earth goddess) as a nod to the global nature of the pandemic and how it’s a natural phenomenon. Wouldn’t go for anything more obviously virus-linked than that though!

Enfys (the Welsh word for "rainbow" I love! We are expecting a little girl end of May. However, as OH is half Welsh we've chosen a Welsh first name already so it would probably be a bit extra and doesn't go with our choice. She's going to be Cerys - Welsh for "love" ❤

MikeUniformMike no I wouldn't but I don't really like the sound of them in English enough to use as names. The noun thing wouldn't bother me though. Lots of names are nouns in one language or another. I am interested in how Enfys is perceived in Wales as a name. I am in England.

I know a lovely teenage Faith. I would use this.

Enfys sounds slightly like a shortening of 'emphysema' - bringing to mind a lung condition is perhaps a bit too on the nose?

Spangled I live in North Wales and know of two little girls named Enfys. One is in a Welsh first language family, the other English speaking 'incomers'. I have never heard anyone dissing the name at all locally.

Enfys is awful - it doesn't look or sound pretty. Iris is much prettier.

Both are nouns.Would you call your daughters Star and Rainbow?

So are Poppy, Jade, Amber, Willow, Dawn, Rose, Pearl etc etc etc ad infinitum, so I'm not sure of your point?

@OnlyTheLangoftheTitBerg, you have listed girl's names.
Seren and Enfys have quite recently been adopted as given names.

They are words for Star and Rainbow - do you know any girls called Star and Rainbow?

I know someone whose given first name is Pebble.
