I like aria and Myla spelt with a Y.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 01/04/2020 11:10

Orla, by miles!

MaMaMyCorona · 01/04/2020 11:11

Orla is my favourite of the three

Wolfgirrl · 01/04/2020 11:25

@Princess200000

Not strange at all! Magnificent creatures! It would be if it reminded you if a dung beetle or something lol!

Whatsyourflava · 01/04/2020 11:34

Orla is really nice @Princess200000

I prefer your other choices but still really love Orla too

CaffiSaliMali · 01/04/2020 14:14

I like them all. My favourite is Orla, then Aria then Mila.

Orla isn't on my list as neither DH or I are Irish enough to use it. I also have Eira on my list (which is Welsh and pronounced EY-ra (ey as in hey and ra as in rabbit) and Lyra.

Short names which are vowel heavy are very popular now for both sexes. Orla is quite popular but is an old name so doesn't feel trendy in the same way as Aria for example.

I would pair a shorter trendier name with a longer classic name like Elisabeth, Katharine, Isabel/le Caroline or Charlotte.

Lyricallie · 01/04/2020 14:16

I like all of them! I think Orla is my favourite then Mila then Aria.

Jj2431 · 01/04/2020 15:00

Orla

ilovemykids5 · 01/04/2020 16:30

My 16 week old is Aria Lily. Mila was on my list also like Myla.
Not keen on Orla x

Carrie7469 · 01/04/2020 16:31

Orla Rose is just lovely

MikeUniformMike · 01/04/2020 16:40

Orla is nice but I don't like the other two. I'd use Quiver as a middle name.

(well, someone suggested Rose)

RuthW · 01/04/2020 17:01

Orla as it's the only one I have no doubt how to pronounce

MikeUniformMike · 01/04/2020 17:45

Mila is Meela, Aria is Are Yah.

teachpaint · 01/04/2020 17:46

Love Mila

diddlediddle · 01/04/2020 21:48

Orla and Mila are both lovely names.

Aria will date very badly and I'm afraid to say already has certain socio-economic associations.

sibbys · 02/04/2020 06:33

I really hate Orla. I think it is horrible, sorry.

I like Aria - it does remind me of Arya Stark, though. But that isn't a bad thing.

MindyStClaire · 02/04/2020 06:39

Yes I was also going to mention the Game of Thrones character re Aria.

I'm Irish and like Orla, but hate it pronounced Aw-la, so wouldn't use it if I were based in England.

LizzieAnt · 02/04/2020 10:12

@Wolfgirrl "Orla reminds me of killer whales"
The first syllable of Orla and Orca are/should be pronounced quite differently though.

Wolfgirrl · 02/04/2020 10:13

@lizzieant

I hadn't noticed that Hmm

champagneandfromage50 · 02/04/2020 10:15

I like Orla , It's unusual but in a good way

missyB1 · 02/04/2020 10:18

Orla a beautiful timeless Irish name, classic names don’t date.

Mila is pretty and not too common.

Aria - sorry it’s always going to be associated with G.O.T and people will assume that’s why you chose it. Also I’m a nursery teacher and it’s a very common name at the moment.

MikeUniformMike · 02/04/2020 10:20

Orla isn't unusual. I think the names are a bit dull and likely to be one of several in the age group.

NearlyGranny · 02/04/2020 10:26

Mila: she will always be having to tell people how to say and spell it. Is it Myler, Miller or Meela? If you want Miller, go for the spelling Milla, like the end of Camilla. If Myler, consider an i to y change and go Myla. Or go Cornish and spell it Mylor. Use Mila only if you want the pronunciation Meela, or go with double e.

champagneandfromage50 · 02/04/2020 10:31

There are zero orlas in my DC schools and I haven't met one where I live. Only an adult female from Ireland. Might depend where you live

PlantPotting · 02/04/2020 10:32

Love all 3
