Hello all! I’m new to mumset but not new to baby name forums. I’ve loved names since like forever. I’d love your opinions on my name list! These are all of the girl names that both DH and I agree on. I’ve sought long and hard for them! What do you think?

Louisa Pearl
Sylvie Anneliese
Rose Amélie
Mary Isobel

There’s one more name I’m in love with but that DH can’t get on board with... I’m working on him though!

Cordelia Faye

Mary Isobel is the clear winner for me. Louisa Pearl is a runner up.

I like some of your others too but not the first and middle name combinations.

Eg I love Cordelia but would pair it with Mary so:

Mary Isobel
Cordelia Mary
Isobel Mary
Louisa Pearl
Sylvie Rose
Amelie Rose
Anneliese Pearl

Others

Sylvie Jean
Eloise Pearl
Frances Maeve
Lydia Claire
Vivienne Rose

Jossina · 29/03/2020 23:34

I love Cordelia but not with Faye.

ShrimpSymphony · 29/03/2020 23:41

Mary Isobel is lovely. And how refreshing to see a thread where nobody has suggested ‘Ottilie nicknamed Ottie’ Envy not envy

Astronica · 30/03/2020 00:01

I love all your first names, Louisa, Sylvie, Rose, Mary and Cordelia. Really hard to choose between them. Perhaps Sylvie or Mary as my favourites, but all good.

Middles, I'm not a fan of Pearl or Faye, but they do work fine in the combinations you have them. Others are all good.

LadyGAgain · 30/03/2020 00:02

They're all beautiful names. Mary is my favourite for personal reasons.

123Dancewithme · 30/03/2020 00:05

Lovely list. Louisa Pearl and Mary Isobel are my favourites.

MrsCantthinkofaname · 30/03/2020 06:50

Lovely list!

My favourites are Sylvie and Rose. Gorgeous names. I have a Sylvie though so maybe slightly biased :)

MikeUniformMike · 30/03/2020 09:39

Louisa Mary

FeedMeSantiago · 30/03/2020 12:19

Oh I like your list.

I love Louisa but prefer your other middle name choices to Pearl. Louisa Anneliese, Louisa Isobel and Louisa Mary are all lovely.

My order of preference:
Louisa Pearl
Mary Isobel
Rose Amelie
Sylvie Anneliese

I love Cordelia - PP who said it seems "made up", have you never read Shakespeare? There was also Cordelia Gray in detective fiction, I forget the author.

I don't like Pearl.

JollyGiraffe12 · 30/03/2020 12:27

Don’t like Amelie or Faye, the rest are just lovely

Butterfly84 · 30/03/2020 20:46

Note the use of the word 'seems' Wink . It seems made up to me as it is very clunky, sounds like several sounds stuck together thoughtlessly. And yes...I have read Shakespeare but not King Lear it would appear. There's no doubt that Cordelia has its place in history but maybe it should stay there Grin .

ellenpartridge · 30/03/2020 20:59

Rose or Louisa

Dyra · 30/03/2020 21:09

To be brutally honest, the only combo I somewhat like from your options as is is Louisa Pearl.

Alternative combos using your names are:

Louisa Mary
Isobel Mary
Isobel Rose
Faye Louisa

Jossina · 30/03/2020 23:52

Sylvie sounds too cutsey. Sylvia is okay.

And @Butterfly84 all names seem made up. Because they are.

Maria53 · 30/03/2020 23:54

Mary Isobel

Wynston · 30/03/2020 23:59

I like faye.
Someone mentioned eloise.....i love that name-wasnt on the list sorry.

CoffeeRunner · 31/03/2020 00:05

Louisa Faye. No contest.

Icare1234 · 31/03/2020 00:06

I like them all. The only one I’m not as keen on is Anneliese but that’s just because I know I’d spell it wrongi I’m not sure how is it pronounced. in reality is quickly pick it up if she was a friend or family member.

Enough4me · 31/03/2020 00:12

Louisa Pearl is my favourite, rest are ok.

Cordelia makes me think of King Lear thoroughly depressing

POP7777777 · 31/03/2020 00:19

Sylvie

WantToBeMum · 31/03/2020 00:19

All pretty names! If you're open to mixing them up I think Faye Anneliese or Faye Louisa would be good choices.

bumblebee1987 · 31/03/2020 00:25

I have a Rose, so I'm biased when I say that is my favourite. However, be aware that if you go for Rose, you will constantly have a stream of people saying 'Oh that's pretty, Rose is my daughter/niece/sister/granddaughter's middle name.' It seems that everyone likes it, but just not enough to use it as a first name, so it's crazily popular as a middle name!

Verily1 · 31/03/2020 05:03

Sylvie

VenusClapTrap · 31/03/2020 08:12

Anneliese Mary
