Fraser
Miles
Lewis

That’s all we have on the shortlist,DH likes one and I like another. We both don’t mind the third.
What shall we go for?
(Surname is Forde)

Basically you like names that also sound like surnames? How about Spencer as well or Grayson. I would pick one that is also classic rather than too American sounding

DH has already vetoed spencer and Grayson.
Baby has cousins called Louis and Jude so they are also out!

Husband doesn’t like the alliteration with Fraser and I don’t like miles as much as Fraser. Lewis is back in third place for both of us!

Lewis it is then OP! You have answered your own question.

I had exactly this type of scenario with all of my children. When you see the baby, you will know if it is right. If you both like "Lewis" then consider similar sounding names like Leo/Leonard etc. But Lewis is a lovely name so go for one you both like. It is really important! It doesn't have to be either of your favourite name, but one you both like.

Haha! If only I was willing to go down without a fight.
More likely one of us is going to compromise and give into the other than settle on Lewis.

I really like all 3 names. But with surname I don't like Fraser. Lewis is best with surname but Miles is still good. So, Miles or Lewis for me.

Fraser. Louis Forde sounds like Lewis theroux. Miles is meh. And miles from sonic is still about.

Yeh if not Miles, lewis is a really gorgeous name @MunchyMunchkin I’d go with that

If neither you nor your DH are happy with this shortlist, maybe you should go back and make a new list.

It'd be sad for either of you to accept a "meh" name just because you can't agree.

Maybe look at the sonorities you like and see if any other names with similar sounds appeal more ?

Miles--> Milo, Melvyn, Malcolm
Fraser--> Francis, Freddy, Asher

@Wintersun13 we both like all three names and this is whittled down from about 12. We just like them differing amounts!

Not Fraser. The alliteration doesn't sound great at all.

Myles spelt that way.

We had the same problem in deciding DS's name and after we had him my partner said I should choose the name after seeing me go through labour!

@Cdl84 this is my hope to be honest.
