Arg! Just realised Korra autocorrected to Korea Blush. It's 'Legend of Korra'!

I'll stop posting now..

ItsHipToBeSquare · 09/02/2020 17:34

Would you not like Cora Rowan Rose Carnell? Both family names in there too

ItsHipToBeSquare · 09/02/2020 17:35

Oops. Carnall sorry.

Charis1503 · 09/02/2020 17:46

I agree the spelling Kora seems to lack class and i just imagine a really chavvy family... plus it will forever get spelt wrong and be irritating. Cora is beautiful and on our list.

I know 2 baby boy Rowans and a 6 yr old who now hates her name as its the same as the class bully (a boy)

If you arnt planning to hyphonate them then rose could be the 3rd name? Cora ....... rose.... surname

Using other names on our list assuming we both like Cora....

Cora sasha rose
Cora harper rose
Cora Regan rose
Cora Roma Rose

Or why not Cora Rowan Rose.... seems to solve the problem?

mastertomsmum · 09/02/2020 17:52

I have met a female Rowan and there was a female journalist with that first name. However it is more usually a boys name

AlpacaGoodnight · 09/02/2020 19:37

Rowan is nice but to me doesn't seem right with Rose. Cora is lovely but really dislike the K spelling

Singingatmidnight · 09/02/2020 19:41

As Cora derives from the ancient Greek word Kora (or Kore in some dialects), I think the K is fine, even if it's not the most common spelling.

I think Kora Rose is nice - I wouldn't use a hyphen though.

Jumpingforgin · 09/02/2020 20:11

Kora spelt like that just reminds me of chicken korma and Kia Ora sorry! Cora spelt the traditional way is lovely though. Not keen on Rowan for a girl as I know a couple of boys with the name, so it just sounds too masculine to me. What about Robyn? Rory is also a great unisex name... Aurora as the full name with Rory as a nickname. Tessa, Clara, Dora, Leona? Leona Rose is nice. Or how about Rosa as a first name, if your oh is very keen on having "rose" in the name.

Astronica · 09/02/2020 21:54

I like Rowan best but not with Rose. Kora is okay. Why does your partner get to choose Rose over your longtime choice of Daisy (which is lovely btw)? Find something else you both like if you're not so keen on Rose. He doesn't get to make a final decision that discounts your wishes. Rose doesn't flow well after Kora or Rowan - Daisy sounds much better.

Some you could use for 3rd name: Elizabeth, Frances, Eleanor, Faith, Anna, Camille, Phoebe.

Jossina · 10/02/2020 05:00

Just Cora, not with the K, or Rowan sound good.

Mammyloveswine · 15/02/2020 12:59

What about Clara-Rose?

Poundcakelindsay · 15/02/2020 13:08

I first thought of Korn when I saw the name Kora. And Korma. Could you spell it with a C? Also like Rowen lots and its a unisex name so can deffo use it

floristowen · 01/02/2021 20:59

I love Cora Rose
How about:
Cora Rose Madeline?

finallychangedmyusername · 01/02/2021 21:08

With or without the hyphens, I find Rowan Rose and Cora/Kora Rose quite difficult to say. Very R heavy.

I'd use Cora (prefer this traditional spelling) in the first spot, another middle, then Rose.

Suggestions:

Cora Elizabeth Rose
Cora Madeleine Rose
Cora Jessamine Rose (this is quite floral-heavy though)
Cora Bethany Rose
Cora Emily Rose (this is lovely)
Cora Felicity Rose

babbaloushka · 01/02/2021 22:47

I like Cora and Rowan, also love PP's suggestions of Aurora/Aurelia with Rory as a NN.

MyLifeNow20 · 01/02/2021 22:53

I thought it was Rowen for a girl

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 01/02/2021 22:58

Agree with previous poster..

Cora rowan rose is wonderful!

partyatthepalace · 01/02/2021 23:12

Cora and Rowan are both great names. Cora more unusual. Rowan is unisex (Roman is definitely a boys name though).

I wouldn’t double barrel - it has a very downmarket feel (unless you’re French!) In the same way if you go for Cora I’d spell it with a C, or it just looks a bit illiterate.

I think PP is right that if you want a third given name, have it in between eg Cora Elizabeth Rose, Rowan Charlotte Rose etc

Mummytobe05 · 01/02/2021 23:15

I prefer Rowan Rose but not keen on that spelling for a girl apparently you can spell it Rohan as well

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 02/02/2021 06:42

Cora is nice, but Kora is awful - it makes a classy name very unclassy. Cora-Rosa is so hard to say in my opinion. Too 'r' heavy.

I like Cora and Rowan but really dislike hyphens, I think they also sort of cheapen the name. Sorry Blush

I'd choose Rowan Rose (no hyphen) or Cora without Rose (or with another middle between 'Cora' and 'Rose').

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 02/02/2021 08:07

Sorru OP, just realised you're not planning on using the hyphen! Missed that the first time I read the thread.

I think your initial idea of Cora Daisy is amazing! It sounds sort of vintage and strong, I imagine Cora Daisy to be a fiesty funny little girl. Rose as a middle name is pretty but overdone. If you're going to put a second middle name, i'd put a slightly sort of fiestier middle name in there like:
Cora Nancy Rose
Cora Eliza Rose

KirstenBlest · 02/02/2021 09:11

Rowan-Rose
Both are plants. Rowans don't have roses. Rowan seems more of a boy's name to me

Kora-Rose
Cora is the usual spelling, so spelling it with a K would mean having to correct people.

-Rose
Rose is a filler middle name. Hyphenating two names usually ruins both parts, and is considered a bit naff. The -Rose bit won't get used.
