Very excited to have chosen a name as it's been so tough with many disagreements! However, I'm now second guessing it. What do you think of the name?

It’s lovely

OopsPregnantAgain · 06/02/2020 19:28

Love it, but I would worry that it would get mistaken for Frasier

FleetwoodMacMummy · 06/02/2020 19:30

Love it

marmitecheesetoast · 07/02/2020 07:50

I really like the name Fraser, in fact it’s on my current shortlist for DC2 if we have a boy!

Bumblebutts · 07/02/2020 08:00

I have a frazer, always get lovely comments on it. Also a little spate of younger frazers around where we live as well.

Teacaketotty · 07/02/2020 08:06

Lovely Scottish name, was definitely on my boy list!

BikeRunSki · 07/02/2020 08:15

Excellent name, love Fraser, although I’d spell it with a Z.

Laurie as in Laurie Lee? That end of the Cotswolds?

AnjGlos · 07/02/2020 09:12

Yep, Laurie Lee end, although I'd chosen it from the book Little Women, then found out it was my husband's grandfather's name. We decided it sounded a little too feminine as a first name for us, and weren't keen on Lawrence. Happy with Fraser x

If you've finally decided, you need to stop thinking about it. And you definitely don't need to be asking the opinions of strangers on the internet. You've decided. That's it.

bridgetreilly · 07/02/2020 09:22

Love it, but I would worry that it would get mistaken for Frasier

Seems extremely unlikely, since Frasier is much less common and pronounced differently.

richele4 · 07/02/2020 09:28

lovely name OP

AnjGlos · 07/02/2020 16:57

Bridgetreilly very surprised by your initial comment, as isn't that the point of this baby names group? To ask the opinions of others?
Thank you richele4! 33 weeks today, finally getting excited and no longer nervous after suffering a miscarriage. Can't wait to meet him!

I’d go with Frasier.

But then I really wanted to name our twins Frasier and Niles and DH refused

(Probably would have bottled it, but it would have been great 😂)

Fraser is a lovely name though

bridgetreilly · 07/02/2020 18:08

Bridgetreilly very surprised by your initial comment, as isn't that the point of this baby names group? To ask the opinions of others?

Indeed. She gave her opinion that it would get confused with Frasier. I gave my opinion that it seemed extremely unlikely for that to happen. Isn't that the point of the discussion?

bridgetreilly · 07/02/2020 18:09

Oh, wait, sorry, that was about asking opinions.

Sure. But opinions are for while you're still deciding, not after you've decided.

iklboo · 07/02/2020 18:20

Fraser is a great name.

AnjGlos · 07/02/2020 18:55

Bridgetreilly I'm sure in my initial post I said that I'm now second guessing it. No problem, thank you for your helpful comments. Will consider them in the future!
Iklboo thank you so much!!! Everyone's been so lovely and put my mind at ease!

Very sound! I know a few, also in Scotland so it doesn't shock me in any way. I think it works for all age groups.

OopsPregnantAgain · 08/02/2020 06:54

@bridgetreilly She may have decided but she's just looking for reassurance that'she's made a good decision really. I also still look up opinions on my son's name occasionally and he's 1 haha

AnjGlos · 08/02/2020 10:58

Thank you oopspregnantagain!
