amaryl · 01/02/2020 21:03

Yes lovely

Thefaceofboe · 01/02/2020 21:05

Nice name but I can’t imagine a baby Joel, just an adult

june2007 · 01/02/2020 21:08

Good name.
And I do know a tean with that name.

1Bobbinwinder · 01/02/2020 21:09

Have a friend called Joel but find it inexplicably difficult to day. I do like it but yeah...

Poppydaisies · 01/02/2020 21:36

I wouldn't know how to pronounce it.. Jo ell?

finallychangedmyusername · 01/02/2020 22:00

Gorgeous name

Triantracks · 01/02/2020 22:10

Great name and not used too much

Happyandglorious · 01/02/2020 22:37

Whatsyourflava · 01/02/2020 23:05

user1471453978 · 01/02/2020 23:05

lovely unusual name though there are 2 in my 10 year olds class

PlantPotting · 01/02/2020 23:46

Prefer Joseph but it’s nice

Jossina · 02/02/2020 01:44

Eh, I prefer Jolyon.

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2020 01:46

Yes, it's nice. One syllable pronunciation only though.

mathanxiety · 02/02/2020 04:21

Always makes me think 'jowl' even though the sound isn't the same. It;s just the spelling.

BethanyGilbert · 02/02/2020 06:29

@Jossina I’ve never heard of that. Looks made up.

@BethanyGilbert it certainly isn't. A fine old English name. Read this and then try The Forsyte Saga :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolyon

Bezalelle · 02/02/2020 10:39

Really nice name!

I know a girl Joel, and it suits her.

BarkandCheese · 02/02/2020 10:42

Really like it, I’m surprised it’s not more popular.

Astronica · 02/02/2020 11:30

Yes

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/02/2020 11:30

Yes

1066vegan · 02/02/2020 11:34

Yes from me. I prefer it to Joseph or Jolyon (sounds too posh and stuffy).

MyuMe · 02/02/2020 12:36

Think of the accent saying it.

Someone I know says it Jowel

It sounds awful.

OldFirstTimeMum · 02/02/2020 16:12

I think it’s a gorgeous name! Traditional and yet fashionable but not common. It’s a very cool and beautiful name.
