Cleo, Grace, Fern or Freya?

These are our current top 4 but I am struggling to decide which one I like best for a girl.

I think they all fit with our surname but nothing is leaping out at me.

Grace - I like this but it is very popular around here and also a bit bland compared to the others.

Cleo - I like how unusual it is but wonder how many Renault Clio jokes she would get...

Fern - I think this is my favourite at the moment but unsure on the spelling. Should it be Fern, Fearne or Ferne?

Freya - I quite like this but is it a bit pretentious?

Also, any other names that follow these sorts of lines? I feel like I have read every baby name book going trying to find some but unfortunately our surname is a bit of an odd one and not a lot goes with it. Begins with a H and ends with a Y.

i like them all, particularly Cleo

Clara and Lara are popular currently

Freya is beautiful but very popular. I like cleo and fern!

Soawesome · 07/01/2020 07:41

Grace is nice enough but very popular and rather boring.
Cleo is lovely. I wouldn't think of the car. I know a Cleo and it's never come up.
Fern is ok. Not very pretty but nice enough.
Freya is definitely not pretentious - safely middle class and popular but not as popular as Grace
I'd go for Cleo myself.

Love Freya grace and Cleo

Hate Fern. Too harsh sounding

nowaypose · 07/01/2020 10:36

Freya is very popular atm. Cleo just makes me think of a Renault. I think Grace is a lazy unimaginative name. I’d probably pluck for Fern if forced.

emmathedilemma · 07/01/2020 13:08

I don't think Freya is at all pretentious! It would be my choice of those 4.

DivGirl · 07/01/2020 14:06

Freya is very common in these parts, I don't know why you'd think it was pretentious.

Grace is popular but a beautiful name, and I don't personally know any babies called Grace (one powerhouse of an adult though). I don't mind Cleo, and I quite like Fern.

Cara? Or Clara?

Cleo!

Grace

MyCatScaresDogs · 07/01/2020 19:28

I like Freya and Grace, both of which are popular but not too popular (Grace seems to be insanely popular as a middle name). Cleo is lovely but yes, Renault Clio!

Not keen on Fern, personally.

MeMeMeYou · 07/01/2020 19:39

I don’t like Freya. I like Grace but it’s v popular, so prefer Fern and Cleo.

MeMeMeYou · 07/01/2020 19:39

I like Flora too as another idea? Anna was also on my list.

MikeUniformMike · 07/01/2020 19:40

Flora is lovely. Much nicer than the suggestions.
Anna is great.

ConstanceL · 07/01/2020 19:45

How about Cordelia shortened to Cora? From your list I like Freya and Fern, but I prefer the Fearne spelling.

ElfishBiatch · 07/01/2020 21:25

Iris
Orla
Norah
Elena

PlantPotting · 07/01/2020 21:33

The numbers of babies called Freya has been declining every year since 2010. No where near as popular as it used to be

I vote Freya

MikeUniformMike · 07/01/2020 21:59

That suggests that it will date @PlantPotting

littlealexhorne · 07/01/2020 23:29

Freya's my favourite, but I also like Cleo, or have you considered Clea? I also love Thea as a PP suggested.
