Hello! Sorry I'm posting all over the place at the moment, but I just find mumsnet so helpful :)! Anyway, plenty of time as I'm not quite 12 weeks pregnant yet so just getting ideas :)! Boys name we are set, however girls name, my partner and I can't agree on a single one! When I say we can't agree, he doesn't suggest any but doesn't like any I do! Middle name will either be (if baby is a girl) Lily or Elizabeth (my Nanna's name) I love -
Mabel Elizabeth
Daphne Elizabeth
He hates both 🙄 if anybody has any old fashioned/traditional girls names that either go with Lily or Elizabeth, would absolutely love to hear them! Thank you x

Oh also, we do have a son already and his name is Archie, middle name James... whilst I love his name, I hate how common it is (especially since Prince Archie was born 😹)

Love Ethel and Edith! I also love Nancy and Winifred, but my friends little one is Nancy and my mums dog is Winifred ha!

I've never heard the name Ottille before I love how that sounds with Elizabeth too! Thank you both, going to put some more to the table!

Our boys name is Wilfred or Wilf for short 😌

I have no idea why and we won't be finding out, but I have a feeling this one is a girl! It's obviously a 50/50 chance ha, but I did have the right feeling with my boy! Happy whatever we have and a little girl would be lovely to have one of each, but I do find boys names so much easier 🙊

How about suggesting Daphne again but spelling it Dafne.

user1493494961 · 05/01/2020 21:00

Dafne is an awful spelling.

FluffyEggsontoast · 05/01/2020 21:53

Adore Wilfred/Wilf @Chlandy

I really love Ottilie. Glad the suggestions are helping

I have a Madeleine. It's my favourite name Smile

Dieu · 05/01/2020 21:55

I must say though, that I do hate 'granny' names!

Dieu · 05/01/2020 21:56

If I had to choose one though, then Jemima is my favourite.
Congrats, btw! And sorry for the multiple messages.

Helloooo :)! So a bit of an update, we're having a little girl :)! We still haven't decided on a name but at the minute we're torn between two...
Phoebe and Elsie
Just wondering which is most popular as we'd probably like to go for the least 😅 what do you lovely ladies think?
Thank you xx

Nonnymum · 19/02/2020 22:49

I know 4 phoebe's under 3, and no Elsie's.. It might depend on where you live though because name popularity seems to be quite regional.

Whatsyourflava · 19/02/2020 23:05

@Chlandy phoebe and Elsie are both gorgeous names. They are both as popular as each other in 2018 (the most recent year we have statistics for), but phoebe is on a downward trajectory and has been for years and years whereas Elsie is the opposite.

Elsie has climbed 800 places over the past 20 years to be number 22 by 2018. Its come from nowhere. It’s one of those names that’s having a burst of popularity. The numbers of phoebe’s have been declining for the past 5 years. So is a much safer choice if popularity is your main concern.

By 2020 phoebe will be much lower down the charts and Elsie much higher. I really like both but if you’re basing on popularity definitely choose phoebe xx

Chlandy · 19/02/2020 23:36

That's really useful to know thank you both!

Phoebe was actually my great grandmothers name too so is a family name!

I am just worried about popularity, I never looked into popularity when naming my son, but personally didn't know any Archie's (2016 he was born) and we both loved his name (still do!), but whilst there isn't anybody in his class at the minute with the same name, now, thanks to Prince Harry, it's predicted to be the most popular this year haha!

Ibloodylovewomen · 20/02/2020 00:13

It's so unpredictable so I would just choose the name you like best. My daughter's name was not popular at all when she was born, but it's now very common!

hannahfaith · 20/02/2020 02:16

It might be obvious but could you do
Lily Elizabeth

hannahfaith · 20/02/2020 02:19

Don't do Elsie Elizabeth as Elsie is a nn for Elizabeth. Elsie is adorable but Elsie Lily and Elsie Elizabeth don't flow as nicely imo

I love Phoebe Elizabeth
