A sister for Merryn?

asister · 28/12/2019 14:13

We have a dd called Merryn. I love it because (imho!) it's cheerful, celtic, pretty but not "frilly"

But I don't know what her sister should be called! Any ideas?

If baby is a boy, he will be Magnus.

Thanks in advance!

what about Raegan or Keira? Both Celtic (I think) and they sound pleasant with Merryn

diddlediddle · 28/12/2019 14:18

Merryn is lovely. What about Lina, Astrid, Hilma, Freja, Ingrid, or another Scandinavian type name to match Magnus?

asister · 28/12/2019 14:18

I like Keira but I think it might be a bit close to my own name!

Not a fan of Raegan at all.

Carenza - or can be spelled with a K. Continues the Cornish theme of Merryn - it means love and affection.

asister · 28/12/2019 14:19

Ooh I like Lina and Astrid!

I went to school with a Kerensa who was a bully so that's put me off it unfortunately. It's a gorgeous name.

DH really wanted Merryn for our DDs middle name (he's Cornish). We've agreed on Lowen. Would that fit?

Borris · 28/12/2019 14:31

On the Cornish theme ...
Lowenna
Morwenna
Lamorna
Rosenwyn
Sennen
Elowen

asister · 28/12/2019 14:32

I love Lowen, Elowen and Lowenna, but I don't know if having two daughters with Cornish names is a bit much! (I am Cornish but don't live there any more.)

Love Merryn!
Tamzin or Tamsin or Tamsyn is the obvious Cornish name. I love it, but perhaps it's too obvious for you?

Lots of lovely suggestions, thank you!

I like Linnet, Rosalind, and Romilly. I'm going to run all of them past DH.

I also like Tamsin, but I'm not sure if I want another name which is so strongly Cornish, iyswim?
