Final Girls Name......

So we've settled on a girls name finally.....
Lily Rose Matilda B

We would like Lily Rose to be one first name with Matilda as the middle name. But we are unsure how to do it.

Option One: Lilyrose Matilda B**
Option Two: Lily-Rose Matilda B*
Option Three: Lily Rose (Request both in the first name space on birth if we can do that) then Matilda in middle name space with surname.

Which option do you prefer? And why?
Thanks.

Lily Rose. We know a teen with similar.

VerbenaGirl Do you find without the hyphen people still use both names? As that was my worry.

Lily Rose.

Lily Rose

Lily Rose, no hyphen. If you call her by both names from the start, other people will too.

Lily Rose... Don't like the 2 flower names together though

IckleBear Thank you, but not looking for opinions regarding the names more how to present them so I can use both names as a first name. I realise from a previous post most people dislike Lily Rose. However most people on here dislike my sons name.

Ok but definitely 'Lily Rose' it looks a lot nicer than the other options :)

Mumma4262 · 26/12/2019 17:13

Option 3, definitely.

When my DD was born I wanted a similar name 'name' - Lily and for her to be called it as one name. My ex didn't like it and said think of when she gets older. So I gave her Lily as a middle instead. Now she calls herself a shortened version of her first name and said she's glad I didn't call her the 2 names together as its too girlie, she's now a 13 Yr old no frills girl who hates pink lol
I would give her the option to use both or just one as she gets older and no longer a baby. .

If you want people to actually use both of these names, you really do have to go with Lilyrose. I don’t know anyone who named their kid with a hyphen or two separate names where the kid was still called by both names by year 4 of school.

Whereas with a one word name, the kid could hold their ground about being called by their ’real name’, including with the teachers, who can often be a big part of the problem.

With Lily-Rose or Lily Rose, she’ll be just Lily by the age of nine, if not long before. Call her what you want her to actually be called.
