Hey, I think these are our final 3 names.
Baby will be half Irish, growing up down south in the UK and a brother to Rory.
I love Jesse, DH loves Dylan, we both liked Finley but concerned it's very popular.

If there's one thing I hate, it's people peppering their speech or posts with welsh words like " hwyl", or god forbid " CWTCH".

Whatever the joke in GUYHUGH is, I don't get it. I like Guy and Hugh, and their Welsh versions Guto and Huw.

  • I'm a Northener, and hwyl is just a word meaning fun - it doesn't have a special meaning, cwtch is South Walian and means sweet FA to me.

@Batmanandrobin123 the only name we liked was Jessica, and then when we found out we was having a boy, I liked Charlie but my OH has an usual name and suggested we still use Jesse and then they both would have the same initials JJ, it took me a bit to come round to the idea but then all my family members loved it and he really does suit the name, he is a spirited child and always on the go and I think he looks like he should be called Jesse :) plus we had to have fertility treatment to get him and Jesse means,,, gift from god,, this kind of sealed the deal for me then 💙

@Lulubelle15 we thought it would be an unique name until he started nursery and his best friend is called Jess-Lynn and then a new boy started in the baby room and he is called Jesse, I was like Confused would AIBU to change nursery's lol my oldest is Harry and he is the only Harry in the whole school.

Fizzy - Mumsnet obviously thought you were racist too. You were.

I'm neither dense, nor unintelligent. However, you seem to be both, as well as petulant and aggressive. You need to calm down and ease off the booze

No they just usually delete anyway as soon as someone gets their knickers in a twist!

And thanks for nothing, Mike. What's the point of that little dig?

Fine, both of you - go have a mutual pat on the back session. Then maybe bog off to the nethuns, where jokes are straightforward and po faces are most welcome.

No drinks here tonight alas, working!!

Batmanandrobin123 · 22/12/2019 22:09

FWIW I didn't think there was anything racist about that post. I actually found the reference to DYLANGATE quite funny as the thread had turned into a competition on who could be the most Welsh.
Anyhow thanks for all the opinions, we are no closer to deciding Grin it's useful hearing from parents of children with the names, especially Jesse as you don't meet many.

Dylan, really don't like Jesse or Finley

Tillygetsit · 22/12/2019 22:54

My cousin has a Jesse. He's sweet and thoughtful and has made me really love the name. He's never had any teasing either and he's 9.

solange79 · 26/12/2019 11:58

Finlay - but spelt this way. It's my cousin's name and he is smashing Smile

Poppyfields21 · 26/12/2019 12:00

Finley/Finlay
