Deep in expat-land in the Middle East but amongst British expats, the most common girls names seem to mirror those back home - lots of Millie, Maddie, Chloe, Izzy, Evie, Amelia etc.

Same goes for boys as well really - Charlie, Theo, Leo, Teddy, Alfie....

SillyUnMurphy · 11/12/2019 07:18

Sienna, Isabella, Johnny

MoltoAgitato · 11/12/2019 07:19

So many Charlottes and Amelia/Amelie.

I didn’t realise that consonants in girls’ names are rationed, either.

OhMyDarling · 11/12/2019 07:23

All the Lila/Lyla/Lola/Layla/Leila/Leias and Isabel/Isobel/Isabelle/isabella/Bella/belles.
Hundreds of Chloes too!
And Graces.
Double barrelled May/mae or rae or ___leigh.
Oh and Lilly/Lily/Lillies.

I actually love them all except the double barrelled first names (Hill billy) and Chloe (yawn) so see why they are so popular!

OhMyDarling · 11/12/2019 07:23

Oh and the Sophies!

SillyUnMurphy · 11/12/2019 07:24

Both of my DDs names appear in the lists, which I’m surprised about as neither name is English and for one of them it is virtually impossible to find anything with her name on outside of Ireland.

IVflytrap · 11/12/2019 08:40

Ava/Evie/Evelyn and Isabelle/Isabella. Don't know a single Isabel under 10 spelt that way, for some reason.

For the under 2's, Sienna Rose (first and middle combination) has appeared from nowhere. Summer and Alba seem to be getting popular as well.

elliejjtiny · 11/12/2019 08:44

There are 2 Erin's in ds3's year 4 class. Other than that there are no duplicates at all. 2 of my dc's classes have an Isla and an Amelia though and there were 3 Edith's at a baby group we went to.

Mulledwineinajug · 11/12/2019 08:46

I know 4 Imogen’s born this year although the charts say it’s on the decline.

Obligatorync · 11/12/2019 09:12

In my 10 yo's class...Eve/Evie/Eva. 5 across the year group. No repeated boys' names.

In my 6 yo's class Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella and Freddy/Freddie.

Greggers2017 · 11/12/2019 09:24

My eldest is Amelie and 12 years ago there were hardly any. Now they are everywhere.
Around here it's
Evelyn/Evie
Lily
Isabelle/Isabella
And everybody seems to either be hyphenated with Grace, May or Rose or have it as a middle name 🤦🏼‍♀️ it's the new era Louise or Marie

Flymetothestars · 11/12/2019 10:27

I don’t know any Imogens , yes ONS stats show it’s definitely on the decline

TheDuvetIsMyOneTrueLove · 11/12/2019 11:21

It's:
Florence
Alice
Emily
Anna / Annie

Here. Especially Florence!

Dyra · 11/12/2019 13:40

Ava
Isla

My DD's name has cropped up a few times in PP's lists. Ah well.

ChristmasMovie · 11/12/2019 14:24
