First name for middle name Björn?

One of my friends is having a baby, and she and her partner both like Björn as a middle name but are having trouble finding a suitable first name. Their surnames start with E and K, so preferably not names that start with either of those letters. They also want the meanings to flow a bit— Björn means bear, so something that sort of went with bear would be lovely!

Autry? It means strong.

My first thought was christopher, not sure why. Kit is a nice nn.

Names with meanings that would be nice with "bear":
Ethan (strong)
Max (greatest)
Alexander (defender)
Sebastian (rebel)
Wyatt (little warrior)
Cayden (great fighter)
Cedric (war leader)
Caleb (a leader in the bible)
Joshua (another leader in the bible)

Not all to my personal taste and the meanings are from a quick google search so could be wrong!

In my family we have a Bjorn Charles (manly) which would be cute flipped so it's Charles Bjorn but I've done a bit of research and some others that I thought would be lovely are

Amell Bjorn (power of an eagle)
Andreas/Andrew Bjorn (strong and manly)
Alexander Bjorn
Owen Bjorn (young warrior)

Will they be using proper Swedish pronunciation; b-yurn or the anglicised 'bee-orn'?

zhk2000 · 08/12/2019 21:46

Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far. I will pass them onto my friend!
@SwampOfDeath I think they're using the anglicized pronunciationSmile

Xander or Alexander

I think it's strange to name your child something you can't pronounce and that is spelt with a letter you don't even have in your mother tongue.

zhk2000 · 08/12/2019 22:36

@Drizzzle I understand where you're coming from— I was confused a bit too, because it's just not common in our area at all. I think they chose it because it had a B and ö, which are both letters from their names (Bianca and Zöe), so they would have a connection between their names and their child's.

Ok, but the ö in Björn ( not pronounced bee-orn) is it's own letter, it's a vowel in the Swedish alphabet. I don't think that's what it is in Zöe. Although it's normally spelt Zoë, isn't it?

Anyway, Obviously they can call their baby whatever they like ! Nice idea to combine their names.
