Really having trouble agreeing on any names with my husband. baby boy is due in 12 weeks. Joining a sister (Willow). We want a strong masculinise name, nature-inspired ideally, but not essential. We came up with Heath the other day and agreed we both really like it. Not sure if I can trust myself and hormones though because we really like Fox too and i’m not sure if that’s totally ridiculous or not Grin goes remarkable well with our surname though. Not sure we’re brave enough!

Heath
Fox
Noah
Roman
Haydn
Rafe

Realises I missed Haydn and Fox

I find Fox a bit ridiculous as a first name tbh though quite cute as a middle name (slightly celeb though).

I really like Haydn and Hayden. Also have you considered Hadrian?

DramaAlpaca · 25/11/2019 23:07

Heath goes so well with Willow that I wouldn't look any further. It's great.

stophuggingme · 25/11/2019 23:13

Kit is a baby fox
It sounds rather nice with Willow

My eldest son’s name so I’m biased

NC4Now · 25/11/2019 23:20

Heath makes me think of Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights, which is a win for me. I did also think of Ledger, but not in a bad way.

I’m not a fan of Rafe as a spelling, but Ralph can be pronounced the same way, which I do like. Gets round the autocorrect too.

Fox is cool but I wouldn’t have the nerve. As a middle name, maybe. I think it takes a certain kind of character to pull it off, and I couldn’t guarantee it would suit him as an adult.

Roman’s out. Noah’s nice but fairly safe. Personally I like safe but if you are after something more unusual it might not be right.

Leopardprintboots · 25/11/2019 23:23

Yes how about Kit ?

isthewinefinished · 25/11/2019 23:38

How about Wolf?
Wolf Hayden works well

juicylemon · 25/11/2019 23:40

Hunter? Although not with Fox as a middle name!

snappedandsharted · 25/11/2019 23:45

I've got a Heath so I'm biased! Still love it though.

Yorkshiredolls · 26/11/2019 06:32

I think it’s a toss up between heath and Fox, MiL may well disown us if we choose Fox though Grin

Will you please come and update us in 12 weeks OP @Yorkshiredolls

stucknoue · 26/11/2019 07:52

Noah or Haydn are solid names that you son won't be ashamed of, you can use fox as a nickname ... kids are cruel enough without giving them the fodder of a crazy name

stucknoue · 26/11/2019 07:58

Also expect fellow school parents to find the names funny ... the first day I took my dd to her new school a friendly mum got chatting and introduced me to a few others then pointed across to a woman and announced her kids were Chardonnay and Merlot cue them all laughing. A name that's cute on a baby is a joke on a primary aged kid (I know two teddy's and a bear but they are either Edward or Theodore really).

tinierclanger · 26/11/2019 08:01

I love both Heath and Fox. Haydn and Noah are safer choices. Not a huge fan of the others but I admire your name list :)

Leopardprintboots · 26/11/2019 08:09

@stucknoue Thing is that names like Fox and Bear and Wolf are getting increasingly popular. To the extent that I can’t really see them being bully material these days as they will sound like fairly normal names to the next generation’s ears

EleanorReally · 26/11/2019 08:10

I like Heath, as in Heath Ledger,
not keen on Fox

@Yorkshiredolls

I’m sure there’s a better way to re-find this thread but I’ve just tested it out and if you just google your username plus “mumsnet” and “heath” this thread is the first result in the google results

Would love to know what you pick

FishCanFly · 26/11/2019 11:51

Wow! I have a Heath. Heath David. Gets called Dave by relatives.
