Hi all, I would be grateful if you could give me your honest opinions on the following names:-

Boy - Saul Alexander
Girl - Elisabeth Rose

I am 37 weeks pg and believe me, I have been through EVERY name in the book! We have told only my parents the above names and they love them and I want to keep them secret in RL but would like some honest opinions.

Thanks

I like them both.

Any particular reason you're spelling Elisabeth with an 's', I suppose you can shorten it to Elsa then. Or Beth... anyway, very pretty names!

I prefer Alexander to Saul though tbh

Tripletsandtwins, Elisabeth with the S is a family tradition, my great grandmother my mother, myself and DD1 all have it spelt that way in our middle names.

Everyone seems keen on the girls name so far. Looked into Saul in the bible, yes he wasn't a particularly nice man but neither were a lot of biblical men and that hasn't stopped their names being quite popular! Think I will definitely stick to these names now! My other name was Jude for a boy and that name comes from Judas - you couldn't have got more of a b@stard in the bible! Must be running a theme here!

Lovely names...however Saul is, if I recall rightly, not a nice biblical character...maybe Sol (which means sun)

3andnomore · 20/01/2008 09:54

Think I was right about Saul not being a good character:
Bible gateway

Hulababy · 20/01/2008 10:02

I really like Elisabeth Rose. Not keen on Saul though.

mehdismummy · 20/01/2008 10:05

love saul. What a strong male name. And really in twenty years time is it likely one of his peers is gonna turn round and say oi mate you are named after a nasty man in the bible. I think not! My ds name means guided one. Also a name of a terrorist organisation. Did not stop me. Do what you want not everyone else thinks. Your post brought tears to my eyes so please you fell pg again after your long struggles. Good luck

sorry...I didn't realise it was a old thread

lol

and mehdismummy...know what you are saying....but...it also seems that it is a name chosen when looking for a nasty character in a movie/soap...etc...

mehdismummy · 20/01/2008 10:17

yes but usually really fit bad guys!
