Sister to Noah and Jacob

So I'm having a massive wobble over the name Matilda. My son's keep saying "Tilda" not Matilda! Its making me really doubt using the name as prefer names that can't be easily shortened.
The only other name I've loved is Harper.

I dont like names that are too "out there" or "uncommon". Would prefer not to have another biblical name (Noah and Jacob picked because I loved them, not because they biblical). And preferably something that can't be easily shortened.
I have thought of Pippa and Freya but again not sure.

Please help and throw me some names!

I would prefer to have a name with minimal shortenings and from my experience Rebecca is always shortened. It doesn't really fit what I'm looking for either.
I like the name Lissie but I'm guessing I couldn't have it as a full name?

Juliet is lovely, unusual but well known enough that people can spell it

All the Matilda's I know get shortened to Tilly.
But you can choose to use the full name and notshorten it.

Miriam is an obvious choice for a similar name and goes beautifully with Noah and Jacob.

I have a Miriam, and everyone comments on how it is a great name, not overused

No worries. Im looking for a solid name but with a modern feel like Noah and Jacob. Hope that makes sense.

Nothing seems to feel right..... when I named my sons I named then straight after the 20 week scan when we found out the gender. Their names were set and never changed. And it never have entered my head they wouldn't look like their name because for 20 weeks of pregnancy they became that name.
I thought I loved Matilda. But the more I say it the less excited I get about it. I was hoping this would inspire me to keep it but instead I'm thinking its going to end up with awful nicknames like Tilly Mattie or Tilda. Agrhhhhh this is literally driving me crazy right now.

OP, I know several Lissies. They are all shortened versions of Elysia, Elisia, Elisabeth. I really wouldn't worry unduly about nn. I'd just choose a name that you love. Matilda is a gorgous name (one of my DDs' middle names is Matilda).

Sorry I’m not going to be much help because I think Matilda is gorgeous. Absolutely lovely name.

Ultimately there’s no guarantee that any child won’t just be known by some random nickname. If you tell her nursery/school that she is “Matilda” then that’s what they’ll call her and all her friends will too

I think if you genuinely hate the nicknames tilly, tilda, and mattie then don't choose Matilda. It will be a lifelong battle for you to avoid any of the obvious shortenings. If you don't mind them but would just prefer Matilda then I would go ahead.

Maybe Matilda is better as a middle name?

Juliet is nice and goes with Matilda. It's not too uncommon and is a well known name.

I love Matilda and Tilda if it must be shortened is lovely too. But the only Matilda I know has been shortened to Titty

It will probably get shortened to Tilly. My friend has a Matilda and an anabella. I always feel it's alot to say in one sentance

Noah and Jacob are quite soft sounding names to me, gentle etc. Girls names like Anna, Alice, Eleanor, Felicity, Esme, Clara, Polly, Rose, Florence, Isabella, Lucy, Madeleine, Charlotte, Cassia would go nicely with them.

Sophia is nice. Not Sofia.

I like Leah but it may be too similar to Noah. What about Rachel or Sarah?. Lizzie is shortened already so she'll spend a lifetime saying 'no my actual name is just Lizzie'.
