Middle name for Theo

I don't know what I'm having, although I'm pretty sure it'll be a boy (I had the same feeling with DS, either that or I'm mad).

So for the first name we've decided on Theo, I was going to go "Theo Rowan" but I don't think it fits? And it deserves something more traditional.

DS middle name is Thomas so that's a no. But again I do like the more traditional names for a middle name.

I think James is the male equivalent to Rose May and Grace as middle name

Kathryn3C · 18/10/2019 20:41

Theo Joseph

@MissPepper8 I actually think your nana is on the money here and has given excellent advice. If you’re having “Theo” as the first name, definitely go for something traditional in the middle, not a name that will almost certainly date (like Rowan)

I also agree with @MissHenty - I’d avoid any middle name with an “O” sound in it. Avoiding a name with an “O” in it will make Theo stand out more (although I do think George would work)

How about

Theo Alistair
Theo Nathan

I know these have already been suggested but they’re really nice:

TheI Alexander
Theo James

I have a Theo Arthur. It really suits him. And I don't mind sharing Grin

MissPepper8 · 18/10/2019 21:23

@Leopardprintboots Yeah she was right, the more I think about it. DS middle name is traditional so it will be nice. Alexander and James are top with me right now, I just need to ask DH about the rest x

@finallychangedmyusername We can't have Christopher, it's DH dad's name whilst he would love it, my MIL (now divorced) would have a melt :(

I like Benjamin and @Biscuitsneeded I really like Arthur too x

I think I like Theo Daniel. If you do decide to use "just" Theo I don't think I would pair it with a very short middle name.

Violet1988 · 20/10/2019 08:06

Theo Alexander sounds the nicest to me, that's a lovely name x

MissPepper8 · 20/10/2019 10:40

@Violet1988 It is a front runner, my DM is trying to convince me to use Theodore on certificate and use the shorter form Theo.

I think if we use Theodore, it will be James and if we use Theo on its own, it will be Alexander.

I'm put off by the full form cause I have blooming chipmunks song in my head (DS watches it). It sounds stupid I know 😂.

My Theo is Theodore Alexander on birth certificate but Theo to us every day.

GlamGiraffe · 20/10/2019 14:57

I'd have to say Theo Alexander. I think they ho very well together. If he doesnt like Theo when hes older he has the option to use another strong name in Alexander or Alex.

MissPepper8 · 20/10/2019 15:28

@Poochnewbie Ah ok, we could do that. It seems to be an idea as my DF wants to call baby Teddy too lol.

I'm really happy think we've found something now, just have to decide between James or Alexander.

@GlamGiraffe Yeah that's my thought, hell have a few options anyway Smile
