Is that a bit wet sounding? DH seems to think so but I really like it. Looking for bird/animal/nature inspired names, without damning my son to a lifetime of ridicule... Feeling a bit overwhelmed! DH has vetoed all my previous suggestions (Kit, Brock, Finn) without actually volunteering any himself Hmm

My favourite brother is called a Robin so it's a Yes from me. Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/10/2019 21:24

2 robins on the family and a family friend. Maybe it’s a scottish thing. I always associate it with a boys name.

Christmas is fun though (all those lovely cards with robins on them).

DramaAlpaca · 01/10/2019 21:37

I'm not keen, it doesn't strike me as a strong name.

meandmyboyz · 03/10/2019 21:32

I have a six year old robin who is far from "wet" he's a really bold strong character and it's works for him ! He gets rob or Robbie occasionally which we don't mind .

Astronica · 04/10/2019 12:24

It doesn't appeal to me, though I love Kit and Finn.

ShinyGiratina · 04/10/2019 17:55

It's lovely. The option to shorten to Rob makes it versatile in tone.

Don't match with the surname Banks though!

Love it. Use it. Great name.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 04/10/2019 20:58

I love it.

can be nn Rob or Robbie

really lovely name.

miagerbies · 04/10/2019 21:02

I love it. Has lovely connotations. Robin Williams for one. Also, some say robins are signs from passed loved ones. The only drawback is that he will be called Rob and people will assume his name is Robert.

chilledteacher · 04/10/2019 21:21

I have a Robin, lovely little name. But be prepared for it to become Rob, Bob, Bobbins by friends and family

MissMumofone · 04/10/2019 21:37

Robin Williams!!!! Robin a brilliant name!!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/10/2019 21:40

I like Robin, for a boy, masses better than the unpleasant, imho, Robyn, for a girl

Robin is a lovely, classic boys' name and I think it is often overlooked

Robin is on my list.. don't think its wet at all. If we go with it I'm thinking I might use Bob as a nn and nothing wet about a Rob either! Keep working on DH if you love it!
