Initials BJ - is this worth worrying about?

I’m keen on a name combo that would give overall initials of BJT. Struggling to find anything else we like but not sure if we should avoid the first two letters being a BJ combination.

I can’t think of the last time I had to use or tell anyone my middle initials in that type of format but aware there might be things I haven’t thought of.

The middle name has a family tie so I really want to use it and DH and I can’t agree on any other first name we like!

Shane gets a lot of stick at our (posh) school, no idea why. People can find anything to bully you about if they look.

The middle name is my Mum’s name so that’s the bit that is fixed.

A real mix of responses here!

I’ll start trawling the girls baby name threads again and see if I’ve missed anything Grin

BLT would be noticeable (!) but BJ? Not to their generation, it's so old now. Seriously, the younger generations would have no idea what you were talking about.

But if you think your older acquaintance would make jokes, then put another name in before your mum's name.

Whatever you think of his politics, it doesn’t seem to have done Boris Johnson any harm.

How do you know he wasn't teased mercilessly for it at school?

cacklingmags · 21/09/2019 11:44

My kid was a BJH, only once were they teased about it.

AutumnColours9 · 21/09/2019 23:23

I have known people to be teased. Certainly would avoid.

Joeybee · 22/09/2019 00:55

Don't think it matters as it's the first and middle name that spell it BJ, not the first and last name.

I had an ex with unfortunate initials.

His post came as Mr C. Hunt.

That he was .

I wouldn’t worry though. If anyone does notice it will be. Quick joke, quick laugh from
Both parties and then if mentioned again met with a blank expression. The joke only works once.

Benefitofthedoubt · 22/09/2019 14:51

Is it e en used these days though? I mean it’s a 70s joke. People talk about such things more openly now, they are not sniggered about are they?

I don’t get it 🤷🏻‍♀️

No one cares!

(C Hunt I think is unfortunate as that will get comments. But everyone I’ve asked about BJ didn’t know apart from one guessed boob job!)

Benefitofthedoubt · 22/09/2019 14:54

I am reliable informed by niece that the term (still) used the days is “give head”. She’s 19 and didn’t understand blow job because, as Ben Elton used to say IN THE EIGHTIES WHEN IT WAS A THING AND FUNNY that you weren’t supposed to blow.

They are my initials. I have two middle names so the full thing is BJXX.

I'm nearly forty and honest to god, nobody has ever mentioned it, not even at school and you know what kids can be like. If I ever point it out (in situations like this) then people who know me go 'oh yeah! I'd never even noticed'.

Just my experience but I wouldn't worry too much.
