Depending on how old and how English...
The old testament would be a good start for a Victorian sounding name, if more Hebrew than English:
Abel
Amos
Jonah
Saul
Simeon
Nathaniel
Moses
Elijah
Micah
Eli
Abraham

Or there are slightly more grandad type names:
Reggie
Raymond
Keith
Colin (Quite Scottish though)
Brian
Alan
Ronnie
Eric
Graham

Or more English type names:
Tristan
Arthur
Lancelot
Cedric
Lionel
(Try a search for arthurian legend names)

@Moominfan
Atlas ?
He'd have the world on his shoulders from day 1 .

BilboBercow · 13/09/2019 23:35

Also can I suggest Balonz?

On a serious note please don't call your child Ethelbert. Christ.

Classic boys names I like are:
Innes
Atticus
Charles
Addison
Grayson
Magnus

Montyman · 13/09/2019 23:41

Fred....not Freddie or anything. Just plain old Fred

m0therofdragons · 13/09/2019 23:51

Boaz - I've only met one and he is effortlessly cool. Nickname is Bo. I love Elliot but suddenly got a fit of the giggles that if baby did a bad nappy I could call him Smelliot. After that the name was ruined. Stupid brain - although I had girls anyway.

IckleBear · 14/09/2019 15:37

Magnus
Andreas
Eric
Rupert
Hector
Calvin
