Douglas (Dougie) or Kip?

As the title says...

Douglas (Dougie) or Kip

Surname 2 syllables and quite unusual.

Interested to know what others think of these names for baby. Due in a few weeks and don’t know whether boy or girl, but keep coming back to these two.

Grateful for opinions!

I like both but Kip is my favourite. I know a young Kip and his sisters have quite traditional names like Mary and Lucy. Kip would also work as a nn for Christopher or Caspar/Kaspar, but I do really like it just as is. I've come across Kip in names of WW1 era men - possibly as a nickname.

Kip is my dogs name and he is and extremely handsome gentleman so you can't go wrong with that in my eyes!!

Kip if short for Christopher. Otherwise Douglas.
