Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MikeUniformMike · 24/08/2019 15:17

It's ok. How doe it look and sound with the surname?

Skye Green, Skye Black or Skye Brown might be a bit silly. Smile
If your surname is White, use Isla instead.

BigusBumus · 24/08/2019 15:25

Every Blue whippet in the UK is called Skye.

Its an OK name, a bit dated-but-was-once-edgy. Better than the hateful Skyla.

NoSauce · 24/08/2019 15:33

Dated.

Cookit · 24/08/2019 15:39

It makes me just think of Paw Patrol Blush

Herat1986 · 24/08/2019 15:49

Paw Patrol.

AverageMummy · 24/08/2019 19:02

Paw Patrol & a common dog’s name

HerRoyalNotness · 24/08/2019 19:04

It’s nice. I’ve only ever met 2 in my life, one now an adult in their early 40s, the other a toddler

TerribleCustomerCervix · 24/08/2019 19:05

It’s a bit dated.

Also a type of terrier.

RedCowboyBoots · 24/08/2019 19:08

Like it. Prefer Skyler/Skyla.

Helspopje · 24/08/2019 19:09

Awful
It’s an island or a paw patrol pup

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/08/2019 19:12

As above. I instantly think paw patrol or my friends dog!

notacooldad · 24/08/2019 19:14

I don't know Paw Patrol so i don't know the connection.
I only know one Skye and she is a teenager of a family supported unite a few years ago so she will be a teenager now. I I Immediately liked the name and thought if I had a girl I would call her that.

After going to Skye 7 times in the last three years I would definitely call a daughter that name. I love it.

joystir59 · 24/08/2019 20:42

Boring. There are loads of Scottish islands that aren't used as baby names yet though. What about Iona?

pilotedgrey · 24/08/2019 20:43

For all those saying it’s dated, to what decade? I don’t know any Skye’s my age but teen DC and DSC do

Poppiesway1 · 24/08/2019 20:45

Is your surname walker?

MrsKittyFane1 · 24/08/2019 20:45

Awful. Sorry OP.

randomsabreuse · 24/08/2019 20:50

Paw Patrol. Which you may not know now but certainly will, sorry...

Clayplease · 24/08/2019 23:20

I think it's lovely. Also really like Iona.

Marcipex · 25/08/2019 00:02

We know a baby one. DGD said loudly ‘That’s a dogs name’.

Shadow1234 · 25/08/2019 05:06

I have always liked Skye or Skyler.

notacooldad · 25/08/2019 11:32

Blimey. A lot of people being put of my a kids program
Tweenies was out20 years ago but the names Jake, Milo and Bella have been popular over the past 2 decades, admittedly Fizz, not so much!🤣

twattymctwatterson · 25/08/2019 12:37

I have a Skye op, it's a bit sneered at on here and thought of as "common". I'm in Scotland where it's not at all common oddly. I don't know any other Skye.

My daughter is named after the island as there's a family connection. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Motherofmermaids · 26/08/2019 10:18

It's very popular in recent years, one of the things we didn't want for our DDs name was being one of several in a class so I would consider that. Other than that it's a pretty name and if you love it you should go for it 😁

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/08/2019 10:34

You could do lot worse than have a Scottish island theme for your children's names. Harris, Lewis, Arran, Iona, Islay, Skye. Maybe not Rum and Eigg.

Antonin · 26/08/2019 15:27

Why not OP? A bit ho hum but not objectionable, everyone’s heard of it so no problems with spelling and a pretty and strong sounding name. If you like it go with it. Unlikely to be others in her class
