Noah Parker / Nosy Parker

Help!
I've chosen the name Noah and my partner has chosen the middle name Parker.
But the more I say it / hear it, the more I hear 'nosy parker'
Does anyone else think that the names are too similar? Too much of an easy target for name calling etc? Or am I making too much of it?
Honest answers please! Thank you!!

Nope i don't think they sound similar. Love Noah Parker.

If it’s just a middle name, no one will ever use it. More of a problem if Parker was your surname.

Grufallosfriends · 06/08/2019 14:38

To my ears it sounds more like 'No, a Parker'

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/08/2019 14:45

It’s a bit harsh, but I’m not getting the nosey Parker vibe. Rosie Parker would be worrying thoughGrin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/08/2019 14:47

Oh Noah. I thought it said Norah Parker.
Yes I’m afraid I’m feeling the Nosey Park thing, sorry. Think because they both begin with the No sound.

SultansOfSwing · 06/08/2019 15:57

Parker is a surname so unless it is a family name to pass through the generations it just sounds like nosy parker.

user1493494961 · 06/08/2019 17:33

Keep Noah but tell him to choose again.

Aprinceinapaupersgrave · 06/08/2019 17:38

I don't think the young folk say nosey parker anyway. I don't think you should worry. As a previous poster said, Rosie Parker maybe but not Noah Parker. And if anyone does say anything it will just be a 'hilarious' dad or uncle. Not a school age person.

imtheonlyupsieone · 06/08/2019 17:56

Haha it definitely sounds like nosy parker to me! However you probably won't say his full name out loud much. Maybe it could be an amusing in joke?

Sophronia · 06/08/2019 22:25

I think it’s fine as it’s a middle name

Snoopy90 · 06/08/2019 23:12

I've never heard the expression 'nosey parker'. Sounds old fashioned

Pemba · 07/08/2019 01:21

Who's Rosie Parker?

Pemba · 07/08/2019 01:23

Oh I see (engages brain, well it is late!). But Noah Parker sounds more like Nosy Parker to me than Rosie P. I would avoid.

Pemba · 07/08/2019 01:25

I see it's for a middle name, not the last name. I would just get your partner to choose something else for the middle. Parker isn't very nice anyway, why would you choose it voluntarily, if not a family name?

tryingtobebetterallthetime · 07/08/2019 01:45

I do not hear Nosey Parker at all. I think Parker is a great name with much history and tradition.

Offblue · 07/08/2019 09:02

Yep, sounds like nosey Parker. Not good in my opinion

Wakeupalready · 07/08/2019 09:06

I hear - "Know a Parker?" , so a flip to Nosey Parker isn't a stretch.

Sorry.

Butterfly005 · 07/08/2019 09:09

Love the name Noah, and as a middle name I think Parker is fine - it won't be said aloud much!

It doesn't make me thing of Nosy Parker.

yellowellies · 07/08/2019 14:06

99% of the time he'd just be Noah Surname, lots of kids won't know his middle name, go for it

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/08/2019 14:09

@Snoopy90 are you 7 years old? It’s really not an uncommon phrase or a particularly old fashioned one. I’m 31 and it’s been a well used phrase my whole life.

Usherusherusher · 07/08/2019 17:51

I've never heard the expression 'nosey parker'. Sounds old fashioned

Really?! Shock I’m 24 and have heard it god knows how many times. Not old fashioned at all
