Daisy Isla

Does this sound weird? Or not flow? My favourite name is Daisy and OH's favourite is Isla so trying to compromise. It sounds a little strange to me but I could be swayed

They're both nice names, they don't flow that well but I don't think it matters. You've both chosen your favourite name and, as often said on here, middle names aren't used that much.

FenellaMaxwell · 01/08/2019 21:38

It doesn’t flow.

Shadow1234 · 01/08/2019 21:45

It doesn't flow that well tbh, but how often do we use our middle names. (filling out documents normally and that's it). If it means you get to use your favourite name as a first name, then letting your OH have the middle name is a good compromise. (as long as he is in agreeance of course).

nothingtowearever · 01/08/2019 21:45

I think it's lovely!

Sittinonthefloor · 01/08/2019 21:49

They are very similar names imo, but both nice.Sometimes a nice to have a different number of syllables/ sounds. You could ‘save’ Isla in case we ere is a sister one day.

Colourfulest · 02/08/2019 14:28

Don't understand how they sound similar! I think the flow beautifully 😊

georgialondon · 02/08/2019 14:30

It's in the top 10 baby names so I'm guessing lots of people like it and are familiar with it.

Celebelly · 02/08/2019 14:31

I don't think they flow that well but as PP said, when do you ever say them together? I never use my middle name other than form filling, and my DD's middle name doesn't flow that well (first name ends in A and middle name starts with A) but it was an important name to the family.

Sunflower160 · 02/08/2019 14:34

It’s alright, both are nice names! When I say it out loud it kind of rolls off the tongue as if Daisyisla is all one word.

AdelaideK · 02/08/2019 14:36

It doesn't flow very well but does that really matter?

I do prefer Isla to Daisy so is Isla Daisy an option?

daisypond · 02/08/2019 15:20

They sound awkward together to me.

Pemba · 02/08/2019 15:44

I don't know if it flows that well, but I suppose the whole name won't be said together that often, so if that is the only way for you to get Daisy ... Daisy is very sweet, Isla is inoffensive but quite boring and there are so many right now.

Spidey66 · 02/08/2019 15:52

Isla Daisy sounds like Upsy Daisy in my head. Daisy Isla sounds better.

They're both lovely names..

TatianaLarina · 02/08/2019 17:33

The important flow is first name + surname.

Some of my oldest and best friends don’t know my middle names.

So rarely used.

Icklepup · 03/08/2019 10:17

I don't think they flow so well
Daisy Alba?
Daisy Louise
Daisy Grace

beela · 03/08/2019 10:19

Delilah

PinkFlamingo888 · 03/08/2019 10:22

They sound fine together but as others have said the middle name rarely get used. I know you can’t predict the future but if you do plan to have more how about saving Isla for a second daughter and then you will have both used your favourite names as a first name rather than one being relegated to a middle name?

Astronica · 03/08/2019 10:52

They are fine together, and a really pretty name. The important question is do Daisy and surname sound good together?

Angrybottlethrower · 03/08/2019 19:27

Agree with a PP about Delilah!
Not keen on Daisy Isla at all. Too much of a mouthful and a bit ‘ditsy’

TatianaLarina · 03/08/2019 20:59

Delilah is a great idea. Nicer than either of them but a mix of both.

You could always call her Daisy at home.

imtheonlyupsieone · 03/08/2019 21:25

Daisy is so twee and Isla is soooo popular... but I guess you didn't ask for opinions on the names themselves! If those are the two names you like then yes they sound fine together.

First and middle names dont have to flow brilliantly, so it's all good.

Just as long as your surname doesn't start with C or K, or E, or M, or Q, or V, or X. And G isn't great either.

DramaAlpaca · 03/08/2019 21:26

Isla Daisy is nicer.

babyno2cooking · 04/08/2019 09:31

Surname starts with "W" and I think Daisy sounds fine with it Smile we've already got a DS so this is our last baby, only ever wanted two! My sisters lg is called Lyla so I think Delilah is far too similar.

Sounds like you’re saying Dozy Isla, like Isla is a bit ditsy and lazy.

babyno2cooking · 04/08/2019 09:35

Also Isla Daisy isn't really an option because I'm really not keen on Isla, Ds quite likes Daisy just prefers Isla. He likes the two together, I'm still not 100%
