Neither Aiden nor Aidan are 'Irish'.
Aidan is an English version of Aodhán (Irish) and Scots Gaelic Aodhàn. Both are diminutives of Aodh, which is often 'translated' as Hugh in English, but Hugh is a Germanic name.

There is nothing traditional about either Aiden or Aidan.

Any family names? I always think middle names are a bit odd if they don't have a family or personal connection.

I love middle names but actually agree with PP that I don't think you need a middle name. It's a strong and striking (and sounds like a book character, in a good way! Maybe a police officer or detective solving crimes?)
