So I found out today at 20 week scan it’s a GIRL! First baby but I have 4 brothers and DH has 2 (boys seem to run in family), skull and nub theory suggested boy and the wedding ring thing swung in circles. So I just assumed it was a boy stupidly. Anyway I’m over the moon of course but I have no idea whatsoever of names. I found girl names really hard. We had the boy name picked out so now I’m stuck.

I really love the name Everly Blush but realise it’s not MN approved so really want to hear your favourite names.

TIA

@ProperVexed yes, you must! I had all of my classical girl names planned and ready. I had one girl and 3 boys 🙄 my girl is Tiggy, you'll know what that is short for! I managed to slip Paris in as a middle name for #3 but Husband would not be persuaded to have it as a first!

MooominMamma · 31/07/2019 22:51

Cora

ICouldntHelpButWonder · 31/07/2019 22:56

Kittykatmacbill · 31/07/2019 23:44

Greta Elizabeth, but it’s been vetoed twice already by DH.

Aimeeleighb · 31/07/2019 23:46

I'm onside with everly

I wanted to alter the spelling Everleigh-Jae

His mum is Beverley, my mum is Jane (jay) and my middle name is Leigh .. I have a stepdaughter, 2 stepsons and 3 boys of my own! So no chance of using it now haha x

dancinginthekitchen · 31/07/2019 23:49

If my youngest had been a girl she would have been Phoebe but my all time favourites are Matilda and Mabel

IncrediblySadToo · 01/08/2019 00:16

Is there a word you could use as a name that conveys the very best, biggest surprise EVER? if so, that

But with a bit more notice

Amélie
Elodie
Mathildé
Claudia

Though I’d ruin all of them by shortening them and hate myself for it! So might stick to...

Daisy
Posy

Harriet - Harry

I don’t especially like Everly - it seems GOT’ish to me & its an unpleasant 2014 film BUT I don’t hate it & if you give a cute baby a name it makes the name lovely too - so if you like it, you should use it, you’ll regret it if you don’t!! Then you’ll have another thread ‘is it too late to change DD’s name?

Can I please have a baby girl tomorrow!! Looks at fat stomach would be hard to convince people I had been pregnant!

If you like Everly go for it! I think it's a lovely name. For what it's worth I looked at MN names when I had my eldest and every thread that mentiined the name slated it, I still loved it and over the years have had so many lovely comments on it. I'm so glad I chose the name and most importantly my daughter loves and suits her name. 6 years later and the name is mentioned a lot with a lot of love (still not 'popular' although that could change!). My youngest also has a name hated MN so will be interested to see if the opinion on that one changes in a few years! What ever you choose good luck!
